Experienced Python developer for the Market Risk Technology. You will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. You will utilize mature programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation. Knowledge of distributed compute infrastructures is very desirable. Also desirable is a background in Finance. And individual with sufficient experience may be able to take on leadership role with responsibility for a subcomponent within the team.


As an Application Developer, you will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; review and provide feedback to the final user documentation; and train junior members of the team.

The IT-Market Risk Team is seeking candidates with deep architecture/development ability in Python or Java & Oracle with computer science, engineering, math, physics, or information technology degree.  Specific qualifications include:


-Strong software and business systems design, analysis, and development skills

-Strong analytical and problem solving skills

-Experience in developing and/or supporting 24/7 mission critical applications

-min 0-2 years of IT work experience (financial industry preferred but will consider a strong candidate from other industries)

-Should be ready to participate in a team development and support of various components of large-scale applications

-Strong demonstrated knowledge of Python. Experience with Athena UX frameworks preferred

-Preferred experience using other cutting edge UX technologies (WPF/Java FX/HTML5)

-Familiarity with Java

- risk management, derivatives, and/or other financial instruments a plus
