In this role, the Lead Information Architect will be responsible for creating and maintaining information architecture artifacts that describe the Mortgage Banking (MB) information assets and for ensuring that the MB information assets are directly aligned with the Chase Consumer and Community Banking information strategy.   These MB information artifacts include items such as Logical Data Models that guide project design, data base inventories for MB, and data flow diagrams. The Lead information Architect will work directly with Mortgage Banking application delivery staff  to ensure deployed information assets align and adhere to the information architecture direction defined in these artifacts. 
 
The candidate must be able to define and enforce consistency in design, storage, movement, security, quality, & usage of information required to support the Business. 
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Information & Data Accountability and Strategy:
  • Develop and promote the target state information delivery roadmaps for key business operation teams and the enterprise, with a key focus on appropriate data sourcing, data integrity, and metadata. 
  • Maintain an inventory of data stores & usage patterns against the business objects
  • Document data flows, including points of control with 3rd parties that host a system of record
  • Demonstrate a strategic mindset while balancing tactical data demands that leverage a multi-step execution plan
  • Quickly assess impacts to business operation, application, and processes as a result of proposed data changes. 
  • Engage in multiple information architecture initiatives to guide data requirements, ensure proper data model design, build data models when required (logical and physical), and enforce information architecture standards
  • Work closely with solution & business architects and IT area data modelers / PMs
  • Contribute to the Enterprise data model & identification of “like data” via business objects or subjects areas, and remediate redundancy
  • Proactively educate delivery teams on MB guiding principles, modeling techniques, standards, and data governance practices
  • Identify new trends in data management architecture and tools
  • Enforce IT controls -  e.g. security and personally identifiable information (PII)

Qualifications

  • BS  or BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of data modeling experience
  • Experience with data warehouse design, master data management, and “Large Data” technologies is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation, are required
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, influencing, and problem solving skills are required
  • Must have demonstrated ability to motivate people & find common ground to achieve architecture objectives
  • Requires technical understanding of Data Integration, SOA, MDM, Metadata, DWH, Reporting & BI product suites
