JPMC's Internal Audit Department, which is comprised of over 1000 auditors globally, reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management, and the regulators. Audit is an independent risk assessment function established within the organization to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management's system of internal control. Within the Audit Department, a Cross Line of Business audit team exists to identify, assess, and report on issues and emerging risks that cross LOBs. This team covers all business segments, regions, and disciplines. Resources are based in North America, London, and Hong Kong.

 

This role is an experienced auditor or consultant that can cover a multitude of risk disciplines, business segments, organizational structures, and control constructs. The position may cover governance, operational, compliance, and technology related topics in domestic and international markets and wholesale, retail and corporate functions.

 

The successful candidate will be based in the New York, Columbus, or Wilmington and able to execute local, regional, and global targeted control reviews for high severity issues, cross-business control themes, regulatory expectations, and other special requests. The ability to work in various size teams; be a self-starter; and accustomed to matrix responsibility is critical.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in audit projects from inception, execution, and wrap-up
  • Produce quality deliverables that meet team, department, and professional standards
  • Partner with LOB Audit teams, data analytics resources, and LOB stakeholders to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls
  • Finalize audit findings and use judgment to support an overall opinion on the control environment
  • Communicate audit findings to various levels management and identify opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of key controls
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; advanced degree is a plus. 
  • Professional certification, such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or equivalent certification expected.
  • 5+ years experience in a financial services organization, public accounting or consulting firm, or related industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
  • Excellent partnership and influencing skills and the ability to be effective in a matrix environment.
  • Experience developing and managing senior stakeholder relationships and delivering difficult messages.
  • Proven ability to oversee several tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner with a track record in creative and successful problem-solving.
  • Ability to quickly learn new areas of the business by applying solid foundation and understanding of internal controls and general business practices.
  • Experienced in various risk management disciplines including models, market, operational, and/or credit.
  • Knowledgeable of financial and consumer regulatory environments and requirements as established by the OCC, SEC, FINRA, FCA, CFPB, and other foreign regulatory jurisdictions.
  • Domestic and/or international travel required, up to 20%, as needed.
