The Business Analyst will be responsible for portfolio analytics within the Dealer Commercial Services Business (DCS) commercial lending line of business within Chase Auto Finance. This role will focus on identification and analysis of key trends within the DCS portfolio.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify key risk drivers, concentrations and trends within the DCS portfolio, and analyze potential impacts to portfolio performance.
  • Generate concise and accurate reporting from the Credit and Risk Management systems to identify portfolio risks, opportunities, and exceptions.
  • Interact with other functional areas (Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, Sales) to ensure appropriate controls and risk tolerance are identified and maintained.
  • Partner with business heads and senior management on strategic initiatives aimed at overall growth and profitability of the business.
  • Communicate complex issues in a crisp and concise fashion to multiple levels of management.
  • Partner with IT develop / modify / streamline reports and to find creative data solutions to business problems.
  • Assure the integrity of data, including data extraction, manipulation, analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assist with risk tolerance objectives.
  • Identify process / procedure gaps, automation enhancements, and drive process improvements.
  • Assist with training and communication efforts related to new process & procedures.
  • Take on special assignments as directed by DCS’ senior management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field required. Master’s degree a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial lending, preferably in risk management or business analysis.
  • Excellent Word and PowerPoint skills; superior Excel skills.  MS Access and SQL beneficial.
  • Experience working with datasets and some querying capability (data manipulation / reporting) required. Experience with various data modeling concepts, tools, and methodologies beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of MIS tools (Business Objects, Cognos, TOAD, Hyperion, SAS) is desired.
  • Must possess advanced problem solving skills, the willingness to learn, the ability to effectively communicate findings verbally & in written/presentation format.
  • Ability to interpret needs of senior management and develop/revise analyses to meet those needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business needs.
  • Must possess the ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleagues & team members.
  • Experience in developing effective relationships with people across the line of business, operations and technology.
