Head of Demand Management for CBB / Enterprise Systems / Auto Finance  
 
Job Description 
Consumer Bank / Business Banking / CWM (CBB) / Enterprise Systems and Auto Finance provides technology solutions from  applications for all lines of business.
 
The Head of Demand Management will manage a team of Portfolio Demand Managers who support multiple LOB’s and Technology areas.     This role encompasses Project Management disciplines that includes: aligning  initiatives / project priorities with organizational roadmaps, facilitate portfolio project selection and prioritization, portfolio risk and issues mitigation, portfolio cross impacts / dependencies, resource planning and demand management. 
 
  • Management responsibilities that includes career and professional development of everybody on the team.   
  • Meet with Clients and Portfolio Managers to assess and understand the portfolio from a roadmap / prioritization.
  • Identify cross-impacts from multiple programs and coordinate resource allocation across all technology teams.
  • Drive projects through the Demand Management (DM) process with the emphasis of removing road blocks and partner with the clients and technology partners to facilitate through all the steps in the DM process e.g. capacity, program readiness, resource conflicts, etc.
  • Drive and facilitate meetings with technology partners and BMO with objectives that includes resolving IT application resource constraints, reducing scope, etc.
  • Continuous improvement – evaluate current processes and delivery methods and make recommendations to the IT Leadership Team on ways to improve and streamline our underlying operational process.  Rethink process to dramatically improve efficiency and effectiveness, allowing to deliver on increasing program demand while reducing expenses.
     
    Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and help prioritize of demand to the IT organization.
  • Capture all cross-impacts from multiple programs and coordinate resource allocation across all technology teams.
  • Help stakeholder prioritize work on the basis of capacity, program readiness, resource conflicts and execution risks.
  • Evaluate current processes and delivery methods and make recommendations to the IT Leadership Team on ways to improve and streamline our underlying operational process.  Rethink process to dramatically improve efficiency and effectiveness, allowing to deliver on increasing program demand while reducing expenses.
  • Be forward looking and extend CCB-IT’s Demand/Resource planning horizon (18 month plan).
  • Partner with the Solution Architects and Application SME’s to align roadmaps to resource capacity.
  • Assists LOB’s with continuous new projects requests that require development from applications. 
  • Negotiate solutions that resolve capacity deficits & constraints in order to balance the release and & lock the portfolio.
  • Align prioritized work with cross-functional IT & Co-Supplier partners with respect to estimates, demand and capacity planning.

  • Experience in analyzing, reconciling, communicating, preparing and managing financial reporting and budget processes.  Manage budget and staffing needs for key initiatives by partnering with project managers to understand scope of effort, work deliverables, and project plans.
  • Keeps up-to-date on documents/reports/guidelines that have a bearing on matters related to budget.
  • Strong data and analytical skills, with comfort in drawing sound, analytically-based conclusions, even when faced with imperfect information and uncertainly.
  • Strong blend of technical capability, program management , change agent and business savvy.
  • Highly consultative and collaborative. Demonstrated ability to marshal resources across various lines of business to deliver against goals.
  • 10-15+ years of overall experience with a strong background in project management, business re-engineering, analytics, strategy, and finance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience is required.
