The External Parties Data Domain Manager is responsible for driving progress to define and certify critical data elements (CDEs) and adopt strategic reference data within the External Parties Data Domain. This role is also responsible for providing leadership around the External Parties Data Domain and partnering with the Data Domain Executives to ensure consistency across the Wholesale and Retail portions of the data domain. This role reports directly to the Reference Data Chief Data Officer.
Manage the daily operations of the External Parties Data Domain
Ensure that the pace of progress with regard to the CDE Lifecycle is in line with Firmwide Data Management (FDM) targets and expectations
Lead the External Parties Domain Working Group (DWG): Set and own the agenda; identify as-needed attendees; lead discussions; set milestones/deadlines; facilitate DWG member consensus, decision-making, and sign-off
Conduct pre-DWG preparatory meetings with LOB-aligned Data Domain Leads and/or Data Stewards to align on agenda topics, decisions required, outstanding follow-ups, and next steps
Review and approve all deliverables associated with each stage of the CDE Lifecycle (e.g., business definitions, classification, business rules), as prepared by the External Parties Data Domain Stewards
Ensure that all CDE Lifecycle deliverables are in compliance with the firmwide data management strategy
Identify potential issues/roadblocks within the DWGs and escalate to relevant stakeholders, including the Reference Data CDO
Receive and resolve escalations from External Parties Data Domain Stewards
Monitor and report on CDE Lifecycle progress to senior stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated prior experience in leading Firmwide/cross-LOB initiatives
Excellent communication, relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills, including the ability to negotiate between cross-LOB/function stakeholders to drive solutions and build consensus
Extensive project management experience, preferably in an implementation/change management role
Familiarity with reference data, end-to-end reference data flows, and reference data domain-specific expertise is preferred but not mandatory
Ability to articulate and communicate a vision
Ability to prioritize and manage expectations
Experience leading and managing teams
