JP Morgan Intelligent Solutions (JPMIS) is a new group considering ways to transform and leverage JPM proprietary data assets into opportunities for JPM.  Protecting and managing intellectual property effectively as well as utilizing it to develop solutions that are both customized and scalable will enable JPM to create additional shareholder value.

The Solutions Development & Delivery Senior Manager (VP) will be responsible for leading the solution development of one or several big data solutions. This role is a mix of product strategy & ownership (including definition of how a product should be built; definition of the analytics powering the product; overseeing development), project management (defining the development approach and roadmap, leading the development and rollout of data/analytics driven products) and occasionally data analyses (to help in the requirements definition). This position will focus on solutions for JPMC’s Asset Management business – an opportunity to explore the value creation potential of the intersection of asset management with big data technology.  The successful candidate will be able to lead the design solutions to meet specific client needs, establish a plan for their development and then lead the development and implementation. The position will offer an opportunity to:

  • Establish a grounding within the Big Data space and develop products based on consumer data
  • Develop a deep understanding of JPMC’s asset management business
  • Design, build, implement and operate new, revenue generating analytics products
  • Partner with a variety of JPMC asset clients to solve business problems and providing strategic insights through data mining, analytics and modeling.
  • Interact with senior leaders within JPMIS to drive and develop business strategy.
  • Derive a broad understanding of different businesses within JPMC as well as external parties, and the opportunity to use data to drive business performance.

Given the group is new, this is an exciting opportunity for somebody that wants to be part of building a new, revenue generating business.

Primary Responsibilities:

Successful candidate will be able to help establish ownership of an analytics product / solution and have an affinity for analytics, a high tolerance for ambiguity, very strong problem solving skills, and excellent client engagement.  

Responsibilities will include
  • Help define new product / solution opportunities (i.e., take high level ideas, pressure test feasibility, assess the market for the ideas)
  • Take end to end ownership of the development of a big data product – “the buck stops here” approach
  • Engagement with clients to assess the feasibility and usefulness of a given product / solution
  • Plan and execute implementation of product build (day to day responsibility, project management)
A successful candidate will be able to:
  • Clearly articulate ideas (how will a product add value? for which clients?)
  • Clearly define analytics (and work with data scientists to execute the analytics)
  • Work with Big Data Scientists to create insights, work with Application Developers to create a consumable product
  • See value JPMIS can add to groups both within and outside of JPMC
  • Drive decision making at JPMC
  • In general, top-tier talent, as demonstrated by performance history and educational background/accomplishments.
  • Prior experience in the asset / wealth management industry is preferred
  • Consulting orientation ability to influence both internal & external business partners. 5+ years at a top tier management consulting firm preferred
  • Very strong analytical skills as well as a strong commercial orientation and the proven ability to use analytics to drive commercial results
  • Experience in product development is desirable.
  • Strong client engagement skills
  • Strong written and oral presentation / communication skills – the ability to convey complex information simply and clearly to senior business leaders..
  • Undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution, in a quantitative discipline required; Graduate degree preferred
