Corp Finance & Business Management: Cash Management Financial Control – Vice President

Job Description

 
The Firmwide Financial Control organization provides financial control services across business aligned teams.  In addition, there are several cross business teams including core accounting, GLRS & Interentity reporting, and an internal control team that houses the functions and processes common to all businesses. This model allows the participating businesses to more easily share best practices and better leverage their collective talent, all while ensuring that the business-aligned teams keep their strong connection and relationships with the business managers in the primary locations.
 
The Cash Management Finance team is the primary Service Provider that can execute fund transfers on behalf of a Business Partner; liaison between business & NAM Commercial to update and change iDDA’s; responsible for the daily reconciliation of Company DDA’s; maintaining records for incoming and outgoing payments related to the TravelEx program; monitoring DDA balances to determine if any DDA’s were overdrawn; reporting on internal/erroneous overdrafts on DDAs Global Finance Operations. The Finance Team is responsible for:
    • Process funds transfer requests for various JPMCB internal groups
    • Daily reconciliation of the WIP (Wire in Process) G/L against total in eServe
    • Process requests related to the Global Assignment Relocation Services (GARS) group for automatic daily feed
    • Track and reconcile daily activity related to Company DDAs
    • Monitor, process & collect reimbursements for escheated portfolio of Traveler’s check
    • Respond to daily iDDA inquiries to open, close, updates & maintain records
    • Monitoring DDA’s daily to determine if any DDA was overdrawn
    • Provide daily updates on existing Outstanding Overdraft Items
    • Work with business partner to complete Errod Form and back value corrections
       
The Cash Management Financial Control Associate will be required to work closely with the DDA owners, the line of business controllers and Client Service Managers to understand the impact of funds transfer requests and maintenance of overdrawn accounts. 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain Funds Transfer Request Log to track daily requests
  • Review and approve Funds Transfer requests through eServe
  • Processing daily & monthly GL entries
  • Communicate to DDA owner any overdrawn Interco account balances
  • Track daily balances of TravelEx accounts and invoice respective states on a monthly basis for reimbursement
  • Responsible for monthly Overdraft reporting and reconciliation
  • Process daily journal entries for any overdrawn 3rd Party Bank balances
The candidate must be a highly-motivated individual and must be able to handle a high level of complexity in their product coverage, be able to shift focus of task with relative ease and be flexible enough in shifting workload in accordance with changing priorities, and be comfortable dealing with a sometimes stressful and fast-paced trading and month end priority-driven environment.
Skills:
  • Experience with SAP
  • Comfort liaising with business and risk managers
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups, as well as external vendors and Corporate Accounts Payable. 
  • Ability to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems
  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies.
 
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business 
  • Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment
  • Able to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
