With over 400 team members in 11 countries, our Global Supplier Services (GSS) organization works proactively with line of business colleagues to identify capable suppliers, lead the competitive sourcing process and negotiate and contract with the chosen suppliers. Leveraging firm-wide buying power and controlling risk are consistent overarching goals. GSS then ensures that the contracted goods and services can be obtained by our employees in an efficient, cost-effective manner globally.
The position will initially report out of New York with a future location strategy that will ultimately report out of Jersey City, NJ.
The Category Manager (CM) is responsible for negotiating, and developing contracts with external suppliers for Information Technology (IT) products with a focus on distributed and client technology software, hardware and services.  In this capacity, the CM will be responsible for:
  • Multiple sourcing projects supporting the Information Technology (IT) needs of the Risk, Cyber Security, and Corporate Security areas as well as various business areas in support of their IT Security and Vulnerability needs.
  • Delivery of bottom-line financial savings for intermediate to complex/strategic IT transactions along with terms and conditions that protect the interests of JPMorgan Chase.
  • Understanding and reporting on the overall Cyber Security and Risk marketplace from a Sourcing perspective.
  • As the lead negotiator, the CM will develop partnerships with the relevant technology, business, and legal managers, gather project requirements, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best in class pricing and contract terms and conditions.
  • The CM will also be responsible for developing and presenting recommendations to management based on research of the relevant transaction and suppliers.
Key job functions include:
  • Negotiating with suppliers, defining sourcing project goals and objectives, tracking and reporting on project status, proposal review, qualitative and quantitative analyses, preparing proper supporting documentation for the transaction, and presenting findings and recommendations to management.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have the following background and capabilities:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Information Technology sourcing experience (e.g., Software, Hardware and Services)
  • Experience in contract analysis, negotiation, financial modeling and RFP, RFI, RFQ creation and evaluation.
  • Leadership skills including:  the ability to work independently, strong consensus building capabilities; the ability to simultaneously lead multiple projects.
  • Ability to partner with Senior Technology and Business Executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. (JD a Plus)
  • Specific experience negotiating software contracts for the Risk and Cyber Security Space a plus. 
  • IT Technology experience in the Risk and CyberSecurity space a plus.
