This position is for a QA analyst who will be responsible for testing web-based and mainframe services, client server applications and batch technologies for multiple projects.  The person will have interaction with other QA team members, development team, and the business users. 
 
  • Minimum five years of quality assurance testing work experience.
  • Experience writing detailed test plans and test cases based on functional specifications.
  • Mastery of creating test scenarios from Functional Specifications and project requirements.
  • Ability to learn functional capabilities of an application and leverage knowledge against new functional changes to understand application impacts and testing implications.
  • Working knowledge of test planning, execution and defect management principles.
  • Experience creating test data/files for batch environment
  • Solid understanding of QA process methodology and its deliverables
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle – key deliverables by phase
  • Exposure, knowledge and use of different collateral throughout SDLC used by QA
  • Experience with HP Quality Center / Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and MS office tools
  • Ability to write and execute SQL queries and Excel macros
  • Must demonstrate strong time management skills, ability to multi-task & handle multiple test assignments & prioritize one's own work.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to follow-through on issues.
Soft skills in order of priority:
  • Possess analytical/problem-solving and detailed-oriented skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills being able to communicate effectively on both a technical and business level.
  • Solid time management skills.
Nice-To-Have skills:
  • Mortgage or Financial services industry domain knowledge
  • Data conversion testing experience
  • Experience working with onshore and offshore resources.
  • Experience execution automated test scripts
  • Experience with Agile environments
  • Experience with Jira
Candidate should be able to clearly articulate:
  • Projects worked and value returned to business from projects.
  • Concepts of front-end, middle-ware and backend testing.  Identify where their experience exists.  QC Experience & defect life cycle management
  • Technically good on the technologies worked/used
  • QC experience & defect life cycle management
  • Scenario-based situations encountered
