Position Description


The Alternative Investments Technology organization is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Solutions Engineer to architect/design and develop QA Solutions; the role exists within an expanding technology team, which is focused on delivering timely automation solutions in response to its ever-growing demand. The individual will need to be flexible in their approach and able to react quickly to changing business needs. The role is of a technologist who can develop automated testing solutions, perform manual testing and is hands on with coding. This is a lead role and will involve the management and oversight of the QA team members.


The role will involve liaison with the Application Development and Business Analyst teams. While this role is project based there will also be a need to work closely with the support team and end users to ensure the smooth transition of the applications to the production environment.


Complete ownership for all testing and automation across multiple applications built with a varied set of tools/technologies

Architect and implement frameworks to enable automation, apart from having thorough knowledge of various existing frameworks in the testing solutions space.

Expertise with various testing tools is expected. Knowledge of programming languages like Java / C# is good to have.

Mentor/Build a team of test analysts using mix of employees and vendor resources offshore

Hands on automation (expert level) expertise in building appropriate solutions for various needs

Support and execution of the application testing phase (functional & non-functional) to ensure all software meets requirements before changes are placed in production. 

Liaison/co-ordination with other technology groups (across sites) to coordinate/execute end-end testing

Work with the AD/ASD counterparts to drive strategy for testing environments and test data

Drive all efforts on test automation and innovation

Management and oversight of the QA team


  • Conversant with Agile processes
  • Strong Knowledge of QA best practices
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of providing testing solutions, through the use of manual /automation test techniques (HP toolset).
  • Thorough understanding of ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development) methodologies with specific experience on the practice of BDD (Behavior Driven Development).
  • System testing using structured test techniques for GUI/Non GUI applications , cutting across the front end , middleware and databases
  • Experience with onshore/offshore QA team model
  • Good working knowledge of Continuous Integration
  • Project Management ,analytic skills and release management process
  • Good working Knowledge of Selenium, C#, Java, QTP, SQL
  • Excellent programming skills using one of the low level languages
