Risk Finance Technology –

Risk and Finance Technology (RFT) builds and supports the firm's financial infrastructure to ensure Finance professionals have access to the tools and information necessary to deliver drive success. In partnership with Global Finance Operations, Corporate Systems Infrastructure (CSi), and others, we deliver solutions that meet the requirements of our key clients. RFT provides technology support for general ledger, profitability, cost allocations, treasury, accounts payable, reference data, project accounting and fixed assets, and reporting tools and the Risk applications.

Market Risk Technology team is responsible for the technology platform to provide risk managers with capability to assess impact of various market scenarios at a firm wide level – including VaR and Stress.
The  Developer will partner with the project team (BA, PM)  and business stakeholders of the application. S/he is involved with Design, Development and Testing. Person will work closely with business to understand requirements and will work on technical solution and design. . Person should be able to provide consultation to business This is hands on role.
This specific role will be part of the Risk Market Data Team (responsible for providing end of day market data for hVaR/Stress/risk calculation and reporting) with is part of Risk Technology. This person will work with new enhancement/requirements as well as improving existing solution. Current environment is Java/Unix based with potential future work in Python
Essential Traits
  • Takes ownership of problems and can work independently
  • Can work on multiple work items at a given time – Enhancements and BAU
  • Can directly work with business users and an work with remote team members


·         Ability to communicate and work independently if required

·         Understanding of the various software development cycles (SDLC agile, waterfall, etc.)

·         At least 4+ year experience with Java / J2EE – worked on backend as well web based application (HTML, CSS). At least 6+ yr IT industry experience.

·         Good Database skills (database) – Can design data model, write comquery and design/code logic to handle large volume

·         Can use Excel to manipulate data and analysis

·         Can work with Unix environment / scripting



·         2+ experience in finance industry. Understanding of financial or Market Risk concepts

·         Plus - Exposure to Python and other technologies

·         This experience is plus -- Autosys, Informatica, Perl, Python
