Cloud Infrastructure Pipeline Developer- VP

Job Description

This is an extremely important role with visibility from top management.  Dana has mentioned cloud adoption as key 2016 initiative.  The cloud program will be at the center of how we transform the way JPM produces, runs and pays for applications. At its core this effort will touch AD teams in CCB, CIB and JPAM and will be a major factor in how we reshape our 2017 budgets.  This is a key role(s) for the team.
The team is responsible for three things.  First building an application services stack for use by AD teams, second a factory and application pipeline and to assist AD teams during implementation.  A key element is the integration and consumption of infrastructure with applications.

Roles / Broad Description

  • Help define the process and implementation of different parts of the infrastructure stack.
  • Processes, procedures, examples to spin up/down infrastructure and components.
  • Understanding, integration and deployment of architectural components.
  • Identify solutions for internal and external cloud providers.
  • Knowledge of existing JPM systems, policies and procedures is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of application architecture/hardware/infrastructure is a requirement.
  • Strong interest/knowledge in cloud.

Soft Skills

  • A motivated self-starter with the ability to focus and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • The project will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders with contrasting interests.
  • A key skill for this role will be working with differing groups to drive conversations constructively.

General Skills

  • Ability to learn and become expert in cloud offerings – both internal and external.
  • Experience of working in an international team for a major enterprise is desirable.
  • Experience of both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Comfortable working in high pressure situations and understand how to ask for help and manage conflicting priorities.

Technical Skills/Areas           

  • Experience working with schedulers – Mesos/Marathon/ECB.
  • Experience working with unix/virtual machines/containerization/Docker
  • Experience working with AWS or other external cloud providers
  • Experience with routing components, Nginx, Apache, ELB
  • Experience working in secured network zones/firewalls
  • Understanding of networking and protocols
  • Languages: shell/python/Java
  • Strong technical/architectural design skills
  • Understanding of cyber security requirements
