The CCB Data Eco System organization is responsible for building the strategic, analytic Data Ecosystem for Consumer and Community Banking (CCB). Within the Data Ecosystem we manage the strategic data platforms, including the Integrated Consumer Data Warehouse (ICDW) and other data warehouse environments as well as provide direction for large data warehouses across the firm.
As a Senior Java Developer you would support and develop Web and Hadoop applications for CCB Data Ecosystem. The individual will work with the business and IT leadership to understand the business strategy, requirements and their implication to application(s) under your responsibility. You will be accountable for end-to-end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. You will prioritize and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff, and manage the issue resolution process for any application production problems. Additionally, you will work with the Data Ecosystem team to develop a strategy, technical solution, and work within the project process to implement high quality solutions in a timely manner. Any experience with Hadoop technologies is a big plus.
As a Java Developer, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Document technical requirements and develop clear and concise design models (object models, interaction diagram, relationship diagrams etc.)
- Facilitate implementation of new functionality through design recommendations, technical documentation, code development and application integration
- You will support existing web, Hadoop applications and develop new as well
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements documentation.
- Develop test plans and perform code reviews
- System testing and production implementation
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and expectations
- Good experience on application authentication/authorization, Static and Dynamic code scans and remediating scan issues
- Project deliverables that meet audit/control requirements
- Support Change Management and Incident Management process
- Promote teamwork in problem resolution
- Provide support to the user community
- 3-5+ years experience developing web applications and integrating with databases
- 4+ years experience of JAVA/J2EE or Hadoop technologies
- 3+ years experience with XML, XSD and JAXB
- 3+ years experience with Apache, Tomcat or FAST AS
- 2 years experience in using Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins, SVN, JIRA, HP AML, Control M or equivalent tools
- Ability to work independent as well as in a team environment
- Able to take the challenges of new technology and provide a production worthy output
- Working knowledge of at least a few of the common frameworks like Spring, Apache, Hibernate (or similar ORM tools)
- Be a self-starter and be able to reach out to various groups to get the requirements to completion
- Experience with Linux shell scripts is nice to have
