Sales and Client Relationship Manager, MD - Commercial Card
Executive Position Description:
This role will have responsibility for the Commercial Card Sales and Relationship Management organization covering the U.S. markets as well as partnering closely with our Canadian Sales and Relationship Management team.   The team consists of 135 geographically dispersed Sales/Relationship Management/Support professionals.  The key objectives for this role are to generate new business revenue while retaining and growing our current portfolio.  The portfolio includes 7500 clients representing $44B in Commercial Card spend across all industries targeted by the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), Commercial Bank (CB), and Business Banking (BB). Commercial Card is a high priority product with significant growth expectations.  In addition the role will require engagement across client service, product, operations, technology, risk, legal, controls, compliance and other areas to optimize product and service delivery in establishing and executing these plans. The role requires strong relationships with our LOB partners (CB, CIB and BB) as well as significant client interaction. 
Minimum Experience Required: 
  • 10+ years experience of a commercial sales and relationship management team
  • Demonstrated a high-level of success in cross-selling products and a track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive product penetration goals
  • Demonstrated a high-level of success in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients
  • Demonstrated understanding of the business including financial performance benchmarks, key challenges and opportunities and the competitive landscape
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Commercial  and Wholesale Bank business model, products, and customers
  • Outstanding professional reputation both inside and outside of the firm
  • Proven progressive leadership, management, execution, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinker who supports the goals and direction of the Commercial Card and the firm
  • Proven credit and portfolio management skills
  • Strong Knowledge of the US market with emphasis on wholesale payments and all areas of the competitive landscape
  • Must have demonstrated experience in cross-selling products and an ability and track record to meet or exceed aggressive product penetration goals
    Minimum Skills Required:
  • Strong management skills - must have previous management experience within a Commercial or Card Services environment
  • Min. of 10yrs.of strong client relationship / sales focus
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding leadership and engagement skills with C-level Mgrs.
  • The ability to inspire others and drive results
  • Ability to create positive impact across a matrix management environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker and contributor, whilst delivering on the details

  • This position requires 40-50 percent travel
    Minimum Education Required:
  • BA/BS degree is required, MBA preferred
