Core Components & Architecture is responsible for the design, build out, and implementation of core data golden sources in Asset Management; aligning business priorities with technology solutions; providing high quality, reliable data, with clear definitions and ownership, and enabling timely responses to business and regulatory requests with lower cost and higher efficiency.

 

As a developer in the team, you will focus on driving design and delivery of the Strategic Data Program, specifically the expansion of a new Position and Transaction platform across Asset Management.  The program includes efforts to establish and adopt a standard service-based framework, standard data definitions, and defined data quality criteria.  To achieve this you will partner within and across technology, operations, the Chief Data Office and the businesses globally.

Your default practice includes:

• Expertise in using SCRUM or a related agile discipline

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels.

• Drive creativity by gathering new ideas and constantly challenging the team to think outside of the beaten tracks

• Author documentation to support engineering, including business requirements, product requirements, flow charts and wireframes.

• Document business requirements in specification by example mode in the form of feature files

• Focus on working with your end users to deliver business value early

• Iterative and incremental delivery

• Emergent design and architecture

• Automated unit and integration testing

• Continuous integration, build and automated deployment

• Refactoring and clean code

• Code reviews and mentoring

• Shows interest to increase and maintain knowledge and skills

You have demonstrated experience with:

• Scalable mission-critical systems with high levels of availability

• Ability to self-steer, work autonomously and take complete ownership of projects of varying length and complexity

• SQL – Experience writing and debugging stored procedures and scripts

• Java, Tomcat, J2EE, JavaScript, Restful Web services.

• Leverages his/her design skills to imagine, illustrate, and help realize a compelling functional interface

• Open source web technologies like Apache, Tomcat, Spring, Mybatis, ORM frameworks etc.

• Source Code management techniques / tools for software management. Strong Knowledge of release management.

• HTML 5 / XML / Backbone JS / Angular JS

• UNIX shell and shell scripting. Knowledge on Python programming is good to have.

• Build tools like Jenkins / Maven / Nexus

• Good understanding of Hadoop eco system and Hadoop tools like Sqoop, Pig, Hive, HBase, Spark, storm, Kafka, etc.

• Test tools like JUnit, Cucumber and Selenium. Having project execution expertise using BDD is a plus.

• Performance analysis and tuning across system boundaries

• Highly motivated team leader with excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate vision and strategy into clear actionable goals, establish priorities and achieve measurable results

• Strong SME level knowledge of Investment Banking domain particularly Asset Management

• System integration, service and messaging including technologies

• Data and modeling technologies including traditional and non-traditional stores

• Performance analysis and tuning across system boundaries
