The Market Risk Projects, a group within Corporate Risk Reporting, supports the Firmwide Market Risk Reporting and Middle Office teams.  The group is looking to fill a Sr. Associate/VP level role with a Project Manager who will support tactical and strategic initiatives for the Firmwide Market Risk Reporting and Middle Office teams.  The person will be responsible for finding effective solutions to business problems, along with preparing analysis on data gaps, and leading cross-functional teams on the delivery of projects which impact coverage, methodology, reporting, middle office, and finance functions.  The person will interact with various stakeholder groups to drive change and improve existing controls by obtaining details on the current state of risk reporting and middle office and gathering requirements for the future state.
  • Project Management and some Business Analysis as needed, from the business perspective, of projects ranging from strategic to ad-hoc enhancements impacting the End-to-End Market Risk Infrastructure, Market Risk Reporting and Market Risk Middle Office teams.
  • Detailed responsibilities include: translation and understanding of business requirements, engagement with Product Control, Technology, Coverage, VaR Methodology & Operate and management of various projects within the risk reporting and middle office book of work
  • Support of project documentation generation across the project life cycle 
  • Identification of potential system/process enhancements.
  • Assisting in the development of new tools or projects to enhance our market risk reporting, data aggregation, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Liaising with technologists in the business and Risk around strategic and tactical initiatives, including those related to VaR, sVaR, and other risk processes
  • Support the delivery of large scale project milestones within the Market Risk Infrastructure Initiative
  • 5+ years of Business Analysis or Project Management Experience within Financial Services
  • Experience in a Market Risk, Product Control, Middle Office, or other risk management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of VaR, sVar, Market Data, Volcker, Default Exposure, or risk sensitivities a plus
  • Strong Project Management Skills, ability to gain consensus among team and drive initiatives to completion effectively
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and oral.
  • Comfortable with conveying complex requests to Technology, Operations groups and senior managers in various risk disciplines
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Visio
  • Strong analytical skills in interpretations of data and identification of anomalies.
  • Good Leadership/Management skills and comfortable leading others
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to identify, research, and escalate critical issues.
  • Results-oriented / delivery focused; ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic and challenging environment.
