Sr. Associate, Corporate Treasury & CIO Americas Liquidity Controller Group

Job Description

Corporate Treasury & CIO (“CTC”) is a critical function within Corporate Financial Management responsible for managing the Firm's liquidity and capital positions, establishing funds transfer pricing policy, analyzing the Firm's lines of business (“LOBs”) and consolidated earnings at risk (interest rate risk), executing the Firm's securitization program and share repurchase program, managing the Firm's relationships with rating agencies and fixed income investors, and managing structural interest rate and foreign exchange ("FX") risks.


The CTC Liquidity Controller Americas group is responsible for oversight of CTC North America & Latin America’s liquidity results and related controls. This includes managing the regional liquidity reporting, its operational control environment, and liquidity forecasting and analysis. The group is also involved in projects, including those relating to enhancing the Liquidity Risk Infrastructure platform, conducting strategic analyses, and participating in various governance forums. Additionally, the group is the primary point of contact for Investor Relations and Corporate Reporting where liquidity messaging is involved.


The CTC Americas balance sheet has $725bn in assets and $300bn in liabilities. The individual will get a deep working knowledge of the components of Corporate Treasury & CIO’s balance sheet which includes Investment Securities, Reverse Repos, and Money Market products (e.g. deposits, long term debt, other borrowings). There is significant focus on the bank’s liability transactions used for funding the Firm. Additionally, the individual will work with various members of the CTC LOB, including business managers, traders, and the Liquidity Risk Project team, as well as other LOB partners.


Reporting, Governance & Controls

The CTC Americas Liquidity Controller group is required to submit periodic balance sheet-based reports (daily, monthly, and quarterly). The role will also support the consolidation of regional reports on a regular basis to provide a consolidated view to Senior Management. Additionally, the group participates in various governance and control initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with ongoing corporate and liquidity balance sheet analysis and liquidity reporting, including the Fed 5G report

  • Determine business drivers behind changes in balances and communicate liquidity impact to partner groups such as Liquidity Management and Liquidity Risk Oversight

  • Assist with ongoing liquidity result forecasting and planning

  • Assist with governance and control initiatives and workstreams

  • Other strategic projects as needed

Liquidity Risk Infrastructure Project


JPMC has mobilized a global Liquidity Risk Infrastructure (“LRI”) program that is a firm-wide, “mission critical” effort to enhance our liquidity risk management monitoring and reporting capabilities, which will include a redesign of the related supporting technology and infrastructure. The LRI program will implement a world class liquidity risk reporting system complying with recently mandated new Federal and Basel regulations. The role will support multiple project work streams on the overall liquidity program.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide testing support across the Liquidity Risk Program including multiple work streams. The work streams include Operating Model, Business Services, & Data Acquisition

  • Attend various workstream conference calls to provide updates and assessments testing outcomes / implications to the business

  • Serve as a point of contact for CTC North America for the firm-wide initiative

  • Review business requirements for the program, provide feedback to requirements submitters on quality and completeness of requirements

Assist in execution of test scripts, validate output, and track results in Application Lifecycle Management (“ALM”) tool

  • General understanding of a bank’s balance sheet and an interest in learning how the bank funds itself

  • Bachelors' degree required

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites, strong Excel skills required

  • Ability to represent Treasury in various working groups as required

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Experience with technology project testing a plus

  • Working knowledge of VBA/macros a plus

  • Working knowledge of LRI, ALM, CDGL/SAP, Business Objects a plus
