Risk and Finance Technology (RFT) builds and supports the firm's financial infrastructure to ensure Finance professionals have access to the tools and information necessary to deliver drive success. In partnership with Global Finance Operations, Corporate Systems Infrastructure (CSi), and others, we deliver solutions that meet the requirements of our key clients. RFT provides technology support for general ledger, profitability, cost allocations, treasury, accounts payable, reference data, project accounting and fixed assets, and reporting tools and the Risk applications.
The Business Manager Analyst role is dynamic and responsible with the lead business manager for the oversight, control, and analysis of financial and resource planning, forecasting, and technology delivery across the IT towers and sub-towers within RFT.
The Business Manager Analyst will need to partner with the technology managers to provide transparency and insight into the technology team expense base, delivery schedule, efficiency & resource agenda and maintain full accountability for all delivery and integrity for all financial and business management deliverables/performance management for the IT organization.
This role is global in scope and reports to the Lead Business Manager for the IT tower. Business managers & analysts may also have a virtual team supporting individuals working with them, the number and composition is dependent on the size of the tower and sub-towers area.
The role demands a good working knowledge of project financials and processes as well as the ability to communicate with people in technology, finance and the LOBs.
Partner with technology team and Corporate Sector Finance team to develop agreed financial plan and efficiency agenda. Monitor performance against plan and explain variances
Oversees the forecasting process and measuring results against agreed objectives
Oversees reviews with lines of business reporting against agreed objectives
Assist with annual planning process and analysis for the towers and sub-towers
Assist with lead business manager and IT senior lead to communicate year on year spend, focusing on forward looking analysis of spend rolling on and off; multi-year planning
Ensure IT organization is aligned with RFT’s and Global Technology overall strategy concerning location; staff mix, real estate, and diversity to ensure efficiencies are maximized
Provide oversight and guidance to IT management team, ensuring corporate policy is adhered to and drives knowledge of and interpretation of financial policies through the technology team
Provide oversight and transparency of technology team’s strategic agenda. Monitor performance against targets and highlight issues, risks and accomplishments
Partner with Corporate Sector Finance & Accounting teams to provide targeted audience with value added management information reports on expense, delivery and organizational governance.
Partner with the IT management to validate the data in source systems
Partners across RFT’s Business Management teams to develop new and improved processes and business solutions to accommodate for an ever-changing environment
- Must have 5+ years experience of working within a business management environment, supporting a technology team is required
Financial planning and analysis experience is preferred
Financial industry experience preferred
Undergraduate degree required
Good working knowledge of MS Excel — Pivot tables, application of financial formulas, macros and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of SharePoint a plus
Must have core knowledge of the following systems:
Project accounting and reporting for technology
Experienced in communicating with internal clients on technology allocations, as well as a thorough understanding of the underlying processes to ensure data integrity.
Ability to interrogate and interpret financial reports
Project Management skills/knowledge a plus
Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills
