Job Description

We serve four distinct client groups globally: institutional and retail clients through J.P. Morgan Investment Management (GIM), and high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients through Global Wealth Management (GWM), which includes the Private Bank and J.P. Morgan Securities. We offer global investment management in fixed income, equities, solutions, real assets, hedge funds, private equity, and liquidity. We provide trust and estate, banking, and brokerage services to high net worth clients, and retirement services for corporations and individuals.
  
The U.S. Value-Driven Investment Strategies team in the Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities group of GIM is responsible for managing approximately $180 billion in assets under management for institutional, high-net-worth, and retail client taxable, investment grade fixed income portfolios globally.  The Taxable Bond Trader’s primary responsibilities and necessary qualifications are detailed below. 
 
Responsibilities
• Execute daily treasury and corporate bond orders from the portfolio management team in a timely and economical manner consistent with internal policies and procedures
• Articulate and provide market and pricing color and trends on treasury and corporate bonds to portfolio managers / traders
• Analyze “cheap” versus “rich” treasury and corporate bond pricing relative to liquidity, curve and spread scenarios based on prevailing and projected market environment
• Manage compliance and regulatory requirements for bond trade executions and allocations
• “Bookrun” and execute new corporate issues on behalf of U.S. Value Driven strategies through direct interaction with syndicate   counterparties including garnering indications of interest from portfolio managers, relaying pricing, books size, deal size and other factors impacting the  actual trade execution
• Assist portfolio managers and research analysts in analyzing treasury and corporate sectors, as appropriate, for use in the investment decision making process 
• Assist Head Trader in compiling and analyzing trading metrics for management and compliance reporting, as appropriate

• Minimum of two years prior buy-side or sell-side bond trading experience
• Knowledge of fixed income securities industry, markets and terminology
• Knowledge and familiarity with core trading technologies (Bloomberg, Tradeweb, Marketaxess)
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong PC skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical/problem solving ability
• Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments; handle multiple tasks/projects/people
• Flexible - willing to assist where needed
• Hold a bachelors degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Mathematics or Economics
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, or progress towards the CFA designation, preferred
