Technical Project Manager - Big Data

Job Description

The Big Data Project Manager will be responsible for facilitating and guiding the Application Development Team(s) in their activities and helping to keep the project(s) on track using both technical and project managerial skills. The Technical Project Manager ensures that their assigned project(s) stay on track, builds consensus amongst all stakeholders and delivers exceptional results in project implementation and delivery. Direct experience in Big Data Project Implementation is required along with a strong understanding of various technologies such as databases, web / application tiers, high availability, sustained resiliency and data migration.

 

Responsibilities include and not limited to::

  • Act as a hands-on Technical Project Manager for multiple teams. This includes organizing and facilitating and driving meetings, demos and presentations, as well as updating and maintaining in the various project plans SharePoint sites etc..
  • This individual has to be a self starter who can work both independent and in group settings.
  • Plan, manage and communicate initiatives and objectives down to the detail level, while maintaining schedules, while having the foresight to understand dependencies, procedures and task management
  • Mitigate issues and elevate to management where necessary
  • Maintain and provide relevant metrics on project progression and issue management

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree required with a focus on various disciplines such as: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • 5+ years of solid experience in Technical Project Management specifically Big Data Implementation(s) using latest tools and technologies
  • Conventional project management experience required
  • Skilled with the following tools: MS Office, Project, SharePoint
  • Understanding of Big Data technology and experience in design of comprehensive technical architecture and implementation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills
  • Strong time management, goals setting and task prioritization and scheduling
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with multiple groups and individuals

 

Will consider locations in New York, Houston, Ohio, and Tampa

  • Bachelors Degree required with a focus on various disciplines such as: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • 5+ years of solid experience in Technical Project Management specifically Big Data Implementation(s) using latest tools and technologies
  • Technical hands on experience with data management such as databases, Hadoop, MongoDB, Cassandra, Linux, Scripting etc.
  • Conventional project management experience required with the following tools: MS Office, Project, SharePoint
  • Understanding of Big Data technology and experience in design of comprehensive technical architecture and implementation
