In January of 2012, the firm restructured Corporate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance to consolidate the administration of three programs - the firm's global AML program, the OFAC and Sanctions Program and the Anti-Corruption program - to ensure close alignment and coordination among the compliance professionals throughout the firm.  The new global structure enhances the firm's ability to ensure the application of common practices, program metrics and operations globally, while still retaining the critical link between the LOB compliance teams and their respective business partners.

 

The AML Enhancement Program has launched teams to manage projects impacting firm-wide Know Your Customer (KYC), Client Risk Management, OFAC and Sanction Screening and Transaction Monitoring.  Other workstreams will be responsible for overall program governance, the creation of a globally consistent Operating model and development of a strategic Technology stack.  The Global Privacy Program Office is a critical contributor to the AML Enhancement Program.  This position will support the privacy related functions of the AML Program as well as other global privacy initiatives.  Projects may involve participation from and have an impact on multiple functions and lines of business and will support interim and strategic initiatives.

 

Core Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Work with the business leadership in defining, prioritizing and achieving strategic objectives and, ensuring projects delivered meet the approved business requirements.
  • Establish working relationships and routinely interface with: project sponsors, business stakeholders, Technology, Subject Matter Experts, Testing and other internal/external clients.
  • Manage day-to-day execution of privacy projects related to the AML Enhancement  Program;  initial projects are for  firm-wide deployment of technology and processes related to analyzing customer and client transactions:
    • Manages one or more large projects or other process improvement initiatives, with possible cross-department or LOB impacts
    • Leads project teams through project lifecycle from concept to project execution, including the approval and demand management process, and ensures quality and timeliness of project completion
    • Directs activities, monitors details, and sets priorities
    • Escalates project issues and risks appropriately, and drives them to resolution
    • Drives root cause analysis and implements solutions
    • Identifies and documents best practices, and drives implementation
    • Independently develops value-adding business solutions
    • Prepares standard and ad hoc management reports and presentations
    • Leads business analysis and process design sessions  
    • Author requirements with the support of subject matter experts, identify all impacted groups and capture key project deliverables
    • Develops and may deliver executive presentations
    • May manage team of project managers / analysts in a direct or matrix environment
    • Act as a communication channel to the Program for ongoing project management status and issues, opening up communication channels, coordinating messages and setting business expectations
    • Maintain a transparent environment; publish regular updates of project status and identify and resolve/escalate issues, risks and dependencies
    • Clearly define project objectives, the project team, success metrics, plan project deliverables with all impacted parties and oversee the execution of the overall plan
    • Ensure compliance of project and development activities with audit and risk policies in mind.

Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in business analyst/project management role
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Management experience leading project teams from creation to execution; includes people and performance management, and  team structuring
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self motivated individual that demonstrates initiative
  • Highly organized, extremely detail and control orientated 
  • Team player with ability to build strong cross-business relationships - proven flexibility, adaptability, and reliability
  • Financial Services Regulatory experience a plus
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance environment and lifecycle a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication presentation skills
  • Strong PC Skills including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and other reporting tools
