The Global Supplier Services Operations (GSSO) team manages the operation for the Procure to Pay process within the firm, incorporating: Contract, PO, invoice, T&E, Contingent Labor, Indirect Tax, Fixed Assets, Sourcing Buyer Desk, and Auction Services operations.  This group is responsible for the execution of all operations functions in the CAO organization.
 
This Function will reside within the Indirect Tax Operations team of GSSO.  The team handles all PPT Tax Returns and related payments for Sales/Use and Personal Property taxes for JPMorgan Chase as well as handling all related audits.  In addition, the team handles vendor related federal withholding and reporting including 1099’s, 1042-S and FATCA.   
 
The team prepares files and pays all Returns and related payments for Personal Property and Sales/Use taxes for JP Morgan Chase as well as handling all related audits.  The team has locations in Columbus, Ohio and Bangalore, India.
 
This Role will reside within the Tax Operations team of GSSO, Columbus.
 
 Responsibilities:
  • Personal Property Tax Compliance
  • Prepare annual personal property tax returns
  • Review and analyze asset listings and lien date transaction data to ensure that assets are properly classified
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Contact tax assessors/collectors as needed to resolve and/or correct billing issues
  • Contact tax collectors regarding unbilled assets
  • Negotiate with tax collectors/assessors to resolve assessed value differences
  • File protests with the taxing jurisdiction as needed
  • Research, analyze and resolve general ledger account reconciliation's
  • Ensure that all activities are completed prior to state imposed deadlines
  • Extract Property tax data from legacy systems utilizing Adhoc reporting tools
  • Analyze Property tax data from legacy systems to identify issues and trends.
  • Develop strategies to increase cost savings and efficiencies
  • Lead and/or assist in various projects as needed

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • 3+ years professional experience with at least 1 year of related financial analysis / accounting experience and an understanding of Financial Reporting
  • Exceptional communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills required
  • Self-directed and motivated with attention to detail
  • Detail oriented and precise execution of assignments
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and multi task
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel required
  •  SAP knowledge desired
  • Must be flexible (capable of team work and independent) within a virtual team that encompasses different locations, countries, and time zones
  • Ability to learn quickly; Team player
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards
