The Originations Risk Analyst will be responsible for ensuring Chase products’ parameters and lending guidelines are within acceptable Risk tolerances.  Primarily this is accomplished by monitoring and overseeing the guideline implementation process as well as the origination and performance trends of the Mortgage Banking products and channels. The Originations Risk Analyst will support implementation of Mortgage Banking guidelines and product offerings, which may include gaining approval from numerous key business clients.  The Originations Risk Analyst will support clear, concise communication of any changes as well as monitor all related parameters and guidelines in all reference materials.  In addition, the Originations Risk Analyst may regularly interact with external investor/insurer representatives. 
 
Description:
The Originations Risk Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Representing Risk in various capacities with all business partners while ensuring core Risk principles are clearly conveyed and enforced
  • Monitoring trends of both Originations and Portfolio Performance metrics and Quality Review/Audit findings to allow for development of actions that proactively (or in some cases, reactively) mitigate risk
  • Reviewing individual loan transactions to find and illustrate trends that should be escalated for (potential) action
  • Researching, developing and implementing Mortgage Banking guidelines
  • Utilizing adept risk analysis to review proposed and recent investor guideline changes which leads to researching, developing, and recommending Guideline actions that may act as overlays to insurer guidance
  • Frequently presenting to senior management and Risk Committee audiences
  • Supporting detailed drafting, editing and communication needs for Originations Risk
  • Interfacing with outside vendors and partners as appropriate.
     
  • Minimum of 5 years of current and relevant mortgage lending experience, focus in Policy preferred.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills required; must be able to communicate with impact and build rapport with diverse audiences and levels of management.
  • Ability to think through situations to reach timely, high quality and actionable decisions.
  • PC skills essential (Outlook, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
     
    Preferred:
  • Internal (Chase) candidate, full time, onsite Originations Risk location in Jersey City, NJ.
  • Data mining skills to obtain and interpret ad-hoc loan transaction populations
  • Subject matter expert for current Chase product offerings.
  • Subject matter expert for appraisal and collateral-related guidelines.
