The Vice President of MIS Operations is a senior level role responsible for leading the production activities for the financial and analytical reporting systems.  This role supports over one thousand finance and analytical users across the Card line of business.  This position will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for all new financial system production activities.  This position is also responsible for ensuring all processes and controls are followed and identify areas of improvement. 
The candidate must have financial systems experience along with strong aptitude for accuracy and reconciliation.  To be successful, the candidate should possess a strong understanding of the Credit Card Industry and its related business drivers.  Interaction between Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, and other groups is required to ensure systems are supported properly.
In addition, this position will have the opportunity to work across the other Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) lines of business.


Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Administer the monthly Common Profit Book (CPB) input and allocation processes across the different portfolios under Card Services.  The responsibilities include validation of month-end results versus expected results.
  • Ensure reconciliation of existing financial systems, including general ledger (SAP) and account based applications on the data warehouse
  • Work collaboratively with senior accounting and IT staff to develop reporting solutions to support business unit analytic reporting
  • Maintain Essbase cube structures/outlines
  • Partner with the Operating Expense, Marketing Expense, Risk and Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) teams to support their financial applications/models
  • Collect and consolidate all month-end volume-related metrics that feed into the different financial systems
  • Coordinate and validate the quarterly Essbase security access process
  • Coordinate and execute the annual CPB re-segmentation process
  • Support forecasting processes by creating new Essbase scenario’s and/or cubes as needed, including Legal Entity
  • Develop, administer and enhance financial reporting through intranet software (Dodeca)
  • Assist Audit and Compliance as required
  • Ad hoc projects, assignments and other requests as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or financial systems discipline.  MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years experience in Finance, Systems, IT and/or Business Management experience
  • Must have Hyperion Essbase experience
  • Strong knowledge of P&L
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership and client relationship skills
  • Effective communication skills and clear, concise and appropriate method of delivery
