Finance Reference Data (FRD) is responsible for providing a wide range of Finance and Accounting services to Business and Finance clients globally. Services include managing all aspects of core Financial Data Dimensions including Legal Entity, Business Unit, GL Account, Product, and Data Source.  The FRD team performs transaction processing for add/change/close requests, provides data content analysis & mapping support across all Lines of Business, supports cross-firm project efforts related to Business, Regulatory, and Conversion events, and engages in a variety of support activities (Re-engineering, Production Support, Process/Policy/Procedure Management, Metrics Reporting, Controls, and Service Support).  


In this role, the Business Analyst for the FRD Program will have the responsibility of working with the FRD Project Manager to deliver on key projects supporting General Ledger, MIS, and other Finance related events.  The Business Analyst will interact with FRD Operations, FRD Technology, other Finance Project Teams, other Global Reference Data Operations and Technology areas, Line of Business contacts and Corporate Reporting to drive the FRD Business Requirements gathering to Design/Build/Test/Go Live.


As a Business Analyst under the guidance of the FRD Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring on time delivery of all business project deliverables throughout the project lifecycle including but not limited to:


  • Create &  manage project plans;

  • Obtain & document business requirements by interacting with all stakeholders;

  • Generate process flow diagrams and other required documentation where applicable;

  • Conduct significant data mining & analysis to support recommendations and necessary action items;

  • Ability to relate application to data used and how it is stored in various tables in the database

  • Review data in database using SQL

  • Solution best way to approach requirements from application and data perspective;        

  • Maintain partnership with the Client, FRD Technology and Operations on the Design, Build and Testing of requirements;

  • Assist clients with FRD process and content;

  • Develop and execute test plans / test scripts;

  • Assist in preparing status reports;

  • Assist in managing the overall project governance: and

  • Assist with defining and documenting operating model

  • Ability to draw conclusions from data analysis and effectively communicate them to management and project team


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years professional experience; 2+ years of project experience

  • Strong data mining, problem solving, & analytical skills with ability to summarize findings

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Proactive, independent and self-managing

  • Responsive.  Ability to learn and respond on the fly.

  • Partnership-oriented and team player with ability to communicate with all staff levels within and outside of own area

  • Organized & detail-oriented

  • Must be able to manage activities against a project plan and time line

  • Proficiency with standard desktop applications including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Access

  • Experience with ALM or other testing tools

  • Familiarity with SAP and/or Oracle ERP systems and JPMC financial processes a plus

  • Solid understanding of reference data infrastructure including repositories and maintenance also a plus

  • Proficiency with SharePoint is a plus
