Marketing Analytics Sr Associate- Amazon co-brand portfolio

Job Description

The analytics senior associate will be the key analytical resource for the team who provides dedicated analytical support to Amazon co-brand portfolio within the Partner organization.  You will conduct the in-depth analyses to support the development and improvement of Acquisitions and Portfolio Marketing strategies.  You will partner with strategic marketers to help them map their business goals into optimized marketing programs through your deep understanding and incorporation of quantitative analysis, customer profiling and segmentation analysis. 


Your goal will be to make the insights generated from data analysis actionable to drive results with the Amazon co-brand products. Success in this role requires a strong foundation in data and analysis skills coupled with a proven ability to translate analytical insights in to comprehensive optimized marketing action plans.  Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must in tandem with a deep desire to optimize marketing plans that deliver significant value to the organization.


The role requires constant interactions with marketing teams in the Partner business unit and on the Partner side, as well as additional analytical teams across Card Services’ center of excellence departments (such as Risk Management, Acquisitions, Finance, etc.).


Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct extensive data-driven analysis of Amazon co-brand card acquisition and portfolio performance trends and desired risk/return relationships
  • Perform analytical assessment of portfolio marketing programs with the ability to segment results to understand effectiveness/opportunities of initiatives, generate actionable insights for customized or enhance portfolio marketing campaigns
  • Establish, maintain and enhance various reporting processes and lead the data sharing efforts with the Partner
  • Drive analytical strategy for balance build efforts, identifying opportunities to better target customers’ borrowing needs 
  • Ensure that analysis drives appropriate marketing investment decisions and optimizes marketing expense
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Finance and other cross-functional teams to create and implement strategies by providing front-end analytics support, setting controls in production processes, and evaluating effectiveness’ of programs
  • Routinely engage the partner, share analytic insights, provide strategic recommendations and support joint Marketing efforts
Create and present strategic presentations that translate complex analysis into compelling marketing recommendations (for all levels of management and executives)
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or related quantitative field; MBA/MS preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience with SAS, SQL or other database tools and languages to assemble and manipulate data; experience using big data platforms (Oracle, Teradata) is required
  • 4-6 years of doing Risk or Marketing analytics in the financial services industry (credit card experience preferred) with strong analytical, technical, and statistical skill.  Ability to synthesize/analyze diverse information, develop and recommend strategies, and make decisions
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience in relationship management, marketing strategy, portfolio management, loyalty programs, acquisition, and consumer product experience
  • Strong project management, oral communication and presentation skills, ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot table), and PowerPoint
  • Strategic insight and ability to think beyond raw data and to understand the underlying business context and sense business opportunities hidden in data
  • Strong financial analytical skills to understand P&L drivers and key sensitivities
  • Self-starter with out-of-the box problem solving skills who can provide thought leadership and drive results
Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, keep numerous tasks on track and manage ad-hoc data to form insightful business analysis with aggressive turnaround timelines
