The Risk & Finance Technology Technology organization is responsible for the end-to-end technology environment supporting Corporate Wide functions of Risk Management, Finance and Regulatory Reporting.
We are seeking a person who is highly skilled to join a centralized Architecture and Core Technology Group for the Data Acquisition and Hosting functions within Risk & Finance Technology. Recent investments in this space have created the opportunity for us to think holistically about a technology architecture and framework that will provide the data foundation for applications developed to support the business in this space. The main objective of this role is to participate in the design of this framework, establish a roadmap for convergence to this framework, and establish a light weight architecture collaboration and governance process to manage progress against the roadmap.
This individual will play a key role in the architecture governance and roadmap work, with specific emphasis on managing the technical migration from existing systems and infrastructure to the new Strategic Architecture.
The qualified individual will have a deep technology background with experience designing and implementing complex, enterprise applications. Experience with workflow, rules engines, event models, data storage technologies, and information and process modeling is required. Effective communication of complex ideas is essential. The candidate must have the proven ability to bring together diverse technical viewpoints and drive to accepted solutions.
• Minimum seven years experience working as an Architect Lead
• Proven track record designing and implementing complex, enterprise applications
• Experience with workflow, rules engines and event modeling
• Strong interest and knowledge of emerging technologies
• Experience establishing and managing an architecture governance process
• Ability to effectively communicate on complex technical topics
• Proven ability to influence and partner across a complex organization
Architecture Skills and Experience:
+ Deep knowledge and experience with OOP/OOD
+ Interfaces, Classes, Polymorphism, Inheritance, Reuse.
+ Design Patterns
+ GoF (Gang of Four), MoM, SOA, MVC.
+ Experience creating Architectural Diagrams in Visio or PowerPoint.
+ Experience helping Application Development teams complete architecture review documentation.
+ Experience conducting Proof of Concepts and collecting metrics.
+ Experience creating UML Diagrams
+ Experience creating infrastructure layout diagrams
+ Big Plus: Experience with ER Diagrams and Data Modeling
+ Huge Plus: Experience with Hadoop and Big Data development
+ Experience with Agile techniques
+ Experience conducting Code Reviews
Development Skills and Experience:
+ Core Java (Java 7+)
+ Extensive experience with Core Java coding.
+ Collections (Lists, Maps, Sets)
+ Also able to code with Arrays directly
+ Able to use Arrays in instead of collections, efficiently
+ Thread creation and control
+ Exception Handling
+ ***Extensive*** Direct JDBC experience
+ Strings and I/O
+ Ability to read large raw data files and parse them into usable tokens for DB Loading or other processing
+ String Matching and Manipulation
+ Reading and Writing from/to Properties Files, XML, Plain Text Files.
+ XML, JSON, and other common formats
+ Familiarity with JAXB, SAX, DOM, STAX, JSON Parsing, etc.
+ At least intermediate SQL Knowledge is a must (Oracle dialect is a plus).

+ Engine Examples: AquaLogic BPM, Oracle BPM, Tibco Staffware/Iprocess
+ Plus: Knowledge of ETL Frameworks such as: Abinitio, Talend and Informatica.
+ Integration of these tools with Hadoop is a big plus.
+ Prior Financial Services Industry experience, especially in the Risk or Finance Technology area or Reference Data experience.
