VP-Fraud Strategy

Job Description

This position is responsible for Fraud & Point Of Sale Authorizations Analysis & Performance Monitoring. This is a leadership position where the team is responsible for developing analytics & performance monitoring which identify opportunities to optimize efforts that cut across our Authorizations and Fraud Risk strategies. This role requires strong thought leadership, collaboration, conceptual skills, and attention to detail in order to adapt to emerging trends in the payments industry. Responsibilities include determining changes in Customer authorizations patterns internal to Chase Card Services & relative to the industry, partnering with Operations to maximize value from POS case management, and determining valuation for all new initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with Operations, IT, Retail bank leadership and the Credit Card risk leadership team to ensure that all priorities are aligned to drive growth, and to challenge the ways things are being done

  • Monitor emerging payment trends and technology

  • Provide authorizations and fraud risk analytics and performance monitoring

  • Development/enhancement/monitoring of intraday, daily, and monthly volume/performance monitoring
  • Ad-hoc analyses in support of issue resolution, cost-benefit calculations, and variance explanations
  • Author business requirements for data-marts, automated processes, and decision engine enhancements
  • Research new decision elements consisting of raw data variables, or derived pattern variables
  • Interface with modeling, strategy, Operations, and IT teams to achieve department road map objectives
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business discipline from an accredited college/university required; Master's degree preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in the consumer/card lending industry desired

  • Experience in Risk management disciplines and departments

  • Identity fraud, transaction fraud, and credit authorizations experience desired

  • Proven track record of developing effective controls and manage operational risk

  • Proven ability to evaluate the business climate, anticipate change and develop compensating strategies/vision

  • Demonstrated leadership in applying analytics to efficiently and pragmatically solve business problems through structured problem solving approaches

  • History of communicating to senior leaders

  • Proficiency in: SAS/SQL, Statistical Methods, Excel (e.g. pivots) and Microsoft Power Point

  • Knowledge of Unix environments
