The Team
Our team is responsible for the pricing, risk and profit and loss for the credit trading derivatives business, with responsibilities for supplying reference data for the whole business. We are responsible for pricing, risk and PNL attribution for all Credit Derivative trades; managing the data flows of a million live trades and thousands of new transactions daily. We are also responsible for sourcing and ensuring strong controls around all market inputs, and reference data.


The role will involve build out of new features, as we continue to onboard new products, and respond to changing regulatory demands. Other responsibilities include production support, handling user enquiries, expanding our resiliency and controls as part of a firm-wide mandate.  The role includes close communication across team locations in London, Glasgow, and Mumbai.  Regular and clear dialogue with stakeholders in operations, risk management, tech, and finance is also central to the role. The successful candidate will also demonstrate deep technical knowledge, solid business understanding, and excellent communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

    Develop robust, performance components and processes, leveraging the capabilities of the existing tech stack and adding new, well-designed, modular functionality where necessary.

    Work across entire software development lifecycle – requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and handover to operate teams.

    Understand how risk, P&L and stress simulations work and how they are leveraged to meet the business's objectives, and act as a BAU point of contact to help operate and business stakeholders understand the system.



2+ years of hands on software development experience, showing a track record of quality designs and process improvements.

Sound understanding of fundamental computer science concepts.

Strong grasp of object oriented design and programming, preferably in C++ or Java.

Familiar with Unix/Linux command line environment and shell scripting would be a plus.

Numerical literacy and a basic understanding of financial modeling, P&L and risk.

A demonstrated ability to interpret non-technical information to develop technical solutions, and to succinctly explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
