Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI)

Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) is a Commercial Banking business located in 101 offices across the US and Canada. MMBSI provides credit and cash management services as well as access to capital markets and corporate finance advisory solutions, through our Investment Bank, to corporations, municipalities and not-for-profit entities via our Core Banking or Specialized Industries teams.  

Our Specialized Industries team, serves businesses within a variety of industry segments, including, but not limited to: Agribusiness, Government, Healthcare and Technology. By employing our product and industry expertise we can deliver comprehensive financial solutions that are tailored to the needs of our clients.

Primary Function

A Relationship Executive is working towards the growth and retention of existing profitable relationships within the Middle Market For-Profit Healthcare Group (companies with sales size between $20 - $500MM), as well as the acquisition of new clients. The Relationship Executive carries heavy new business development goals and is expected to work independently. They will seek opportunities to cross sell into every relationship and anticipates the future needs of the client. The Relationship Executive should have proven client relationship skills as well as extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, and strong transaction execution skills. It is highly desirable to have existing experience in Healthcare Banking as well as a presence in their geographical marketplace and region.  

  • Responsible as an “individual contributor” to add new client relationships who will grow and retain profitable relationships within the Middle Market segment
  • As an “individual contributor” the Relationship Executive is not responsible for managing less experienced staff but focused on generating revenue
  • Focus on the delivery of value added solutions to our clients and prospects that will help them reach their goals and maximize our revenues over the life of the relationship
  • Orchestrate the interfacing with clients by credit support staff and all other product partners
  • Develop a weekly sales plan prioritizing most promising revenue generating sales opportunities and responsible for cultivating referral sources, institutionalization of relationships and aggressive calling
  • Specific calling goals will be developed depending upon client portfolio responsibilities; calling requirements have a strong emphasis on in-person meeting with clients and prospective clients
  • Seek opportunities to cross sell into every relationship and anticipate the future needs of the client
  • Credit process management is a critical component of the position
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct lending and credit support related experience in commercial banking
  • Strong knowledge of specific geographical marketplace and region preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated healthcare experience managing clients in a commercial bank setting
  • Good problem solving, oral, and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial banking products and services

  • Possesses strong creative solution and problem solving skills
  • Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources
