The Role

The Global Investment Opportunities Team (GIO) is a group of investors within JPMorgan Private Bank. The sales team covers clients that demand the most sophisticated and complex investment strategies and products. The GIO NY Team covers clients across US, Latin America, and Brazil markets and although based in NY, the full team has international presence in London, Geneva, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

The Global Investment Opportunities (GIO) Middle Office Trade Support role is part of the Private Bank Investment Products Middle Office and sits onsite with the GIO sales team. This individual’s primary responsibility is to support daily investor and client facing functions including ad hoc reporting requests such as position P/L reports, margin maintenance / requirement reports, enhanced or one off product approval and on boarding, as well as trade flow management for all product types. Within the context of the GIO team, the specialist will work independently to prioritize daily workloads and ensure all requisite procedures and controls are adhered to. In addition to daily tasks, the Specialist is responsible for quality control of client facing data including reports prepared for clients, monthly statement reviews, and interpretation of client facing web portals, and internal books and records. The specialist is responsible for tracking issues and working with technology and operations to resolve. The Specialist will also be responsible for continuing development and driving improvements with our current ad hoc reporting palette as well as driving strategic agendas for new product and process initiatives. As such, the specialist will need to comprehend and develop the many aspects of our client portfolios including the pricing, valuation, trade capture, trade flows, and reconciliation of all financial products within the various JPM Private Bank product and technology platforms (with heavy emphasis on equity, listed option, fixed income, and OTC derivative products).

The role of the GIO Middle Office Trade Support Analyst requires a willingness to take on a challenging, complex, and always changing suite of products. The position requires a strong understanding of excel, trade settlement flows, and derivative product knowledge. Strong communication skills are necessary due to the heavy interaction with the business as well as informing and presenting management with strategic and innovative ideas to improve upon existing processes.

• Education: Bachelors degree required (Degree in Finance or Economics preferred)
• Work Experience: 4-8 years broker dealer or wealth management experience
• Problem Solving Skills: ability to identify complex risks early and develop actionable mitigation plans
• Client management and teamwork skills: demonstrate ability to be flexible in working with stakeholders and colleagues at all experience levels
• Project Management skills: candidate must have ability to create practical and comprehensive implementation plan and partner with all levels of management and stakeholders to gain consensus
• Analytical Skills: must be highly analytical with experience using objective data to drive strategic recommendations
• The ability to work in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have good prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong Excel skills; VBA macros a plus
• Knowledge of clearing, settlements, and asset services
• Strong understanding of derivatives and how they are used
• Series 99 license required
• Series 7 and 63 license are a plus
• Ability to speak and write Spanish at Professional level is a plus
