Job Description:
 

As an Applications Developer, you will be part of the Operations Technology organization supporting the Consumer & Community Banking operations of JPMorgan Chase. The Collections and Recovery Analytics development team within the group develops applications and reporting for Performance Management, Analytics, Finance, and Planning Services for all collections activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing Business Requirements, designing, coding, testing, and supporting complex business processes and applications.
  • Creating operational and executive reporting based on a wide variety of data sources including but not limited to the Corporate Data Warehouse, Integrated Collections & Recovery Platform, and inventory management databases.
  • Using business and technical knowledge to recommend technological solutions that best address the business needs.
  • Designing and implementing application enhancements or new functionality, including highly-efficient user interface and back-end processing using programming tools.
  • Designing logical and physical data models.
  • Performing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, correcting process breakages, and resolving data integrity issues.
  • Working in partnership with project managers to ensure group is in compliance with large-scale corporate initiatives.
  • Writing technical documentation for the work performed.
  • Develop data-driven applications and reporting to satisfy the information needs of the Recovery organization.
  • Work with internal process owners and relationship managers to build MIS solutions using the Software Development Life Cycle model.
  • Manage highly technical and analytical projects, which may involve multiple platforms, products, and technologies.
  • Ensures that project deadlines, functional requirements, and quality specifications are satisfied.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in web and desktop Business Applications design and development with Visual Basic.NET and ASP.NET (C# experience accepted)
  • 5+ years of experience writing complex PL/SQL or T-SQL queries.
  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or similar relational database product in large-scale production environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in UNIX shell scripting
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with gathering and analyzing business MIS requirements.
  • Experience with report design and validation.
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Javascript programming experience is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work in a team.
  • Proactive customer service skills.
  • Prior bank card experience is a plus.
