The Planning and Analysis (P&A) Associate is a member of the Card Services P&A team.  The Card P&A team serves as a strategic analytical resource to help senior executives understand, manage, forecast and plan the financial profitability of the business. The team is responsible for coordinating the financial activities with the Card, Commerce Solutions & Auto and Consumer & Community Banking finance teams.  The team supports/leads the following activities for the Card Services business:  quarterly earnings press process, Investor Day, presentations for executives used at conferences/roundtables, etc.

 

The Planning and Analysis Associate will be responsible for the following:

  • Support the Card Services annual/monthly/weekly financial planning and reporting process
  • Analyze financial results, provide variance analysis, prepare for monthly management meetings and business reviews
  • Assist with the quarterly earnings process
  • Develop/enhance internal business unit presentations for meetings with the CEO/CFO
  • Support ad hoc analysis
  • Proactively analyze trends, research issues and respond to inquiries to help provide insight and decision support to senior management
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy and timeliness in all financial reporting
  • Work closely with accounting, the MIS team, and other P&A teams  
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or other related majors
  • 5+ years of financial/analytical experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, fact based, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Advanced skills in in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint/PitchPro; Hyperion Essbase preferred
