Job Description

The Corporate Responsibility (CR) department is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s CR agenda and initiatives by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm’s business strategies and operational objectives and support the communities where we do business. Corporate Responsibility includes Global Philanthropy, Global Government Relations, Office of Nonprofit Engagement (ONE), Office of the Environmental Affairs and Social Finance, our impact investing business.

Corporate Responsibility is seeking a summer intern to help support our philanthropic initiatives in workforce readiness, financial capability, small business development and community development. The intern will be located in Houston and support the Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, markets.

• Help design and execute events and conduct research to support signature initiatives.
• Create information packets that can be used for external meetings in the region containing appropriate fact sheets and brochures (will assist in the creation of these documents if they don't already exist)
• Create master distribution lists to include grantees, elected officials and key stakeholders, and ensure accuracy of contact information
• Support grant making (grant acknowledgement forms follow-up, processing Discretionary requests and grant monitoring via internal database)
• Meeting preparation (collect biographies, create packets, manage RSVPs)
• Support Relationship Managers with maintaining the firm’s partnerships with Non-Profits through engagement and possible off-site events
• Writing and designing communication pieces for internal and external purposes
• Ad-hoc projects to support the team across the Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma markets



• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program
• Background in corporate responsibility, philanthropy, nonprofits, marketing and/or public policy
• Interest in financial capability, community development, workforce readiness, community development
• Basic understanding of the community development needs of low to moderate income communities and economically vulnerable populations
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and meet aggressive deadlines
• Strong project management, reporting, and record keeping skills
• Willingness to learn
• Experience with graphic design and/or desktop publishing desired but not required
