Key Responsibilities covered by this area:
The position will be located in Hong Kong reporting functionally to Asian Prime Brokerage Technology. This position provides the opportunity to join a high-profile growth business area within the Global Prime Services group. A key focus of the role will be to support business functions to identify opportunities, develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enable delivery of business strategies for the region.
The role of Prime Brokerage Product and Business Development for the Asia-Pacific region, is responsible for:
- Executing the build-out of the Prime Brokerage client-facing product as customized to the Asia-Pacific markets with all required support areas (most prominently technology, but also operations, finance, risk, legal, and others). In some cases this execution will involve direct project oversight of regional or global build-out; in other cases execution will involve driving Asian requirements into product development processes run out of our New York and London offices;
- Performing other business development tasks as requested by local management.
Typically the projects will range from major strategic projects including regulatory, new business and systems, to internal process efficiency projects. Projects may be both internal or client facing.
Your responsibilities will include leading teams through the formulation and execution of program plans provided by business sponsors. This includes establishing objectives, developing requirements, planning schedules and estimating costs. Directing, defining and coordinating program issues are key functions in this role. Ability to prioritise and manage across global and regional initiatives will be a key challenge.
You will be required to work directly with business partners in the Prime and Equities organization including Product Development, Front Office, Middle Office Operations, Finance, Legal and other JPMorgan functional areas to deliver competitive, efficient, and scalable product solutions.
- Work as part of cross functional virtual teams and associated work streams during a project cycle
- Work with peers to develop and drive goals, define technical specifications and detailed implementation and testing plans for projects
- Effectively apply skills to impact product and project decisions
- Project management of timelines, communications, and cross team deliverables for one or a set of feature areas
Knowledge of and experience with equity swaps / synthetic prime brokerage - additional familiarity with other market access products and/or cash prime brokerage in multiple Asian markets is desirable;
Highly organized & disciplined project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex, global products from inception to implementation, including the development of business requirements for technology products, the elaboration of these (together with technology partners) into system specifications, monitoring progress through the development process, and testing of resultant technology products -- whether all this is accomplished via traditional or RAD/Agile methodologies;
Ability to manage and coordinate multiple streams of work simultaneously, effectively resolving issues and conflicts as they arise;
Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of system architecture and technology capabilities from both a tactical and strategic viewpoint;
Ability to conduct and manage business process analyses to assess and improve the efficiency, scale, and control of operational processes;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively target messages to different audiences;\
Ability to influence without leaning on authority and successfully manage cross functional teams;
Strong engagement and negotiation skills, strong business acumen, and have the ability to speak in both business and technical terms to define and deliver results;
Demonstrated problem solving skills;
Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
Solid understanding of hedge funds and the trading strategies they employ;
