CIB F&BM - EMEA Exotics Product Controller

Job Description

EMEA Rates Product Control are currently recruiting for an Associate controller to join their team covering the Non Linear Interest Rate trading desks - Interest Rate Options, Interest Rate Exotics, Structured Notes and Inflation. 
 
The role entails the accurate and timely production and analysis of daily P&L and Risk and requires extensive interaction with Front Office, Market Risk, Valuation Control, Technology and Business Management.  Additionally, it provides the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to learn and gain an in-depth understanding of the more complex aspects of Interest Rate risk.
 
The desks supported trade a wide range of interest rate products such as Interest Rate Swaptions, Caps/Floors, CMS Spread Options, Inflation Swaps and CMS Spread Options across various curves and tenors within multiple European markets.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Producing and consolidating the daily P&L and Risk reports.
  • Validating and understanding daily P&L explains, including higher orders and residual amounts.
  • Providing daily P&L commentaries to senior management, explaining P&L in terms of desk's risk position and economic factors.
  • Understanding day on day risk moves in the context of the strategy the desk is operating.
  • Using knowledge and understanding of desk strategy and risk positioning to provide daily commentary to senior management on significant P&L drivers.
  • Interacting daily with the front office to understand P&L estimate to actual differences.
  • Participating in a wide range of on-going and new projects ensuring the needs and requirements of Product Control are met.
  • Constantly focusing on operating efficiently and improving processes while maintaining a strong control environment.
Qualifications:
 
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income Derivatives ideally Structured/Exotics products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive nature with an eagerness to investigate and fully understand products, processes and issues.
  • Excellent academic background - minimum 2:1 degree (preferably mathematical).
  • Ability to challenge efficiency and drive forward on change and innovation of processes.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Accounting knowledge is preferred.
