J.P. Morgan International Bank Limited (JPMIB) is the primary entity which is used to provide private banking services to ultra high net worth (UHNW) and high net worth (HNW) individuals in the EMEA region, excluding Switzerland. It is also the entity which provides banking, trading, and brokerage and custody services to clients of the Global Wealth Management (GWM) in Asia. JPMIB is a UK bank and is regulated by the PRA and FCA; it operates out of its UK head office with branches in Brussels, Frankfurt, Madrid and Milan. 


Our Team
 

Managed Solutions & Strategy (MSS) encompasses the discretionary investment offerings for clients, including multi-asset and single asset-class strategies as well as the manager selection platform.  The Managed Solutions Global Portfolio Specialist team is viewed as a vital member of the Advisor team and a go-to center of excellence for core discretionary multi-asset portfolios.  The Global Portfolio Specialists are specifically focused on articulating our investment methodology, current positioning, and technical insights across the Private Banks core investment offerings to internal teams as well as clients. 

 
 The Role
 

As a Portfolio Specialist Associate you will work with investment professionals on the team as well as many across other investment and business functions, including Strategy, Manager Selection, Portfolio Construction, Business Management, and Marketing.  Associates conduct research and analysis, assist with content development, and help respond to inquiries from clients and advisors within the Private Bank.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing presentations and materials for internal meetings and for clients
  • Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge, becoming a technical subject matter expert across core strategies, including investment philosophy, strategic and tactical positioning, underlying managers, and performance
  • Organize, maintain, and disseminate information to articulate investment insights to the region related to core discretionary portfolios
  • Support the Portfolio Specialist in partnering with Bankers, Investors, and local leadership to understand their client base, identify opportunities for new business and growth, and prepare for client meetings; help train new investors and bankers on how the Private Bank manages investments
  • Participate proactively in market-level team meetings and investor huddles, increasing the depth, scope, and frequency of communications; support integrated teams with client questions, product teach-ins and general inquiries
  • Provide input and new ideas that contribute to the overall development and enhancement of investments content; drive the creation of new approaches to articulating key concepts in collaboration with business partners
  • Engage proactively in investment dialogues within the Global Portfolio Specialist team and across other investment teams, including sharing of client and advisor feedback from the region
  • Continue to develop superior risk and control frameworks across the business area
  • Assume significantly more responsibility over time in the role, with increasing direct interaction with senior management
 
Requirements

We seek candidates with a unique blend of interpersonal and analytical skills.  Private Banking Associates efficiently leverage both qualitative and quantitative resources to understand complex financial situations and present solutions.  Specific qualifications include:

  • Over 3 years of work experience in asset or wealth management
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.2
  • Superior multi-tasking; strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Genuine interest in financial markets and macro-level economic trends
  • Excellent communication skills and poise giving presentations
  • Ability to communicate complex investments-related con concepts in a simple manner
  • Demonstrated aptitude for sales and client relationship management
  • Ability to be a dynamic member of a team
  • Strong initiative, energy and confidence completing projects with limited supervision
  • Good judgment and discretion working with highly confidential information
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

PLEASE NOTE: ALL INTERNAL MOVES WILL NORMALLY TAKE PLACE ON THE SAME GRADE AND SAME SALARY. SALARIES ARE REVIEWED ANUALLY IN FEBRUARY. EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE REGARDING TRANSFER ON CURRENT SALARY MAY INCLUDE A MOVE BETWEEN GEOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS.
