CIB Agency Securities Lending provides a complete range of lending services that provide clients with opportunities to gain incremental income on their assets. JPMorgan Securities Lending enables institutional investors to earn extra income on their investment and pension portfolios with minimal risk and involvement.
Key Responsibilities 
Reporting to the Securities Lending Global Tax & Due Diligence Manager, the successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day-to-day management and technical oversight of the tax support for the Securities Lending product. This includes review and assessment of technical tax information, together with the oversight and management of the interactions between Securities Lending, Corporate Tax, Custody Tax and other support groups.
  • Provide technical expertise to support business growth and opportunity and client requirements and represent the business as a product tax expert
  • Assessment of tax technical information, including changes in market legislation and practice, with a view to determining the impact on the Agency Lending product. Regular interaction with trading desks globally to provide tax support to securities lending trading activity.
  • Provide impact assessment of tax changes (rates, processes, legislation etc) for clients within the programme and JPMorgan itself.
  • Responsible for the determination of manufactured income rates included within the Securities Lending Manufactured Income Tax Rate Matrix and the ADR Tax Matrix, which is used by Trading, Operations and Client Management to calculate and book securities loans.
  • Responsible for the preparation, control and management of all client Tax Rate Declarations and Schedules.
  • Responsible for determining the scope of required  tax related documentation from clients, together with collected and management of the documentation.
  • Work closely with the Due Diligence manager to obtain, understand and action any technical information & tax changes that are identified.
  • Apply strong project management disciplines to ensure that tax initiatives are prioritised, executed and signed off within agreed timeframes and costs
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting on tax issues.
  • Product-related documentation support

  • The successful candidate would normally have significant experience of both domestic and cross border tax issues, in both custody and securities lending environments.
  • Solid understanding of securities lending, with particular reference to tax legislation, together with legal and regulatory drivers.
  • Sound understanding of global custody and fund management industry
  • Project management expertise
  • May suit a candidate with a tax accountancy or paralegal background
