The Global Trusts & Estates Practice is an integral part of the Private Bank offering, delivering enduring fiduciary expertise and comprehensive oversight to protect the legacy of our clients.  Over the last 160 years, we have been serving the world’s wealthiest families as wealth advisor, trustee and investor.  We have over 600 fiduciary professionals, located in 19 states and 4 countries, administering over $150 billion in fiduciary assets in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America. The Role
 
The continued growth of our Trusts & Estates business is of significant importance to our firm.  Accordingly, the Global Head of Trusts & Estates is responsible for defining and leading the implementation of a comprehensive strategy which includes the development of a robust sales management process as well as a world class model for the delivery of our trusts and estates services. The Global Head of Trusts & Estates:
 
  • Establishes the strategy for the U.S. and International fiduciary businesses, including product offerings, pricing and supporting marketing initiatives
  • Collaborates with Market Managers, Wealth Advisors, Wealth Strategists, Bankers and Investors to position and identify Trusts & Estates opportunities and articulate the value of J.P. Morgan internally and externally
  • Participates actively in significant new business opportunities by partnering with client advisors and engaging with clients and prospects
  • Works closely with business executives and colleagues to ensure the function serves clients and internal advisors to a consistently high standard
  • Ensures an efficient and well-managed Trust administration process, with a strong focus on creating a scalable and controlled operating model
  • Defines the strategic initiatives for the Trusts & Estates business and upholds the visibility of the business, both internally and externally
  • Leads a high performing team of professionals and is responsible for talent management including development, acquisition and retention
  • Serves as an escalation point for critical business, risk and control decisions
  • Works closely with partners across investments, credit, risk, compliance, legal and operations to represent the Trusts & Estates perspective in all Private Bank initiatives and decisions
 
 
Required Skills & Experience
 
  • 15+ years experience in a comparable, senior leadership role
  • Expert understanding of all fiduciary products and services, including legal, tax and regulatory requirements applicable to fiduciary relationships 
  • Strategic thinker with ability to drive results through implementation mindset
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to establish and communicate the strategic vision to all levels
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with business partners, senior stakeholders and external clients, fostering partnerships quickly across multiple disciplines and functions
  • Exceptional leadership and staff development skills with proven experience in managing large scale, complex operations across multiple locations
  • Proven ability to drive and deliver efficiencies through process improvements ensuring optimal productivity of a large operation and an exceptional client experience
  • Control focus with a thorough understanding of operational risk
  • Superior ability to anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives to achieve results
  • Ability to think outside of the box to solve multi-dimensional, cross region issues
  • Demonstrated understanding of wealth management including, but not limited to: investing, credit, banking and financial planning
  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree such as JD or MBA preferred
