Job Responsibilities & Activities
The AM Strategy & Business Development Team is based in New York, London and Hong Kong and partners with senior management across GIM and GWM to deliver on their most important business strategies, growth and development plans, and performance objectives. Besides organic growth topics, the team is also responsible for identifying and assessing inorganic growth opportunities.
Associates on the AM Strategy & Business Development Team are responsible for working with project managers who lead strategic planning, business analysis, and other internal consulting projects that support high impact improvements that lead to profitable growth.
Associates conduct supporting analysis and research, and can expect to work extensively with other colleagues across Asset Management, including front office, product, finance and operations managers and team members. Associates are expected to also present their results to senior management.
Key responsibilities include (examples):
Analyzing opportunities within specific regions, client segments and/or markets
Competitor analysis and benchmarking
Financial / growth modeling (incl. M&A assessments)
Developing recommendations and discussion materials for senior leadership meetings
Skills & relevant practical experience
University degree holder with 5+ years of professional experience in a similar capacity. Advanced degree in Business Administration or similar field preferred.
Fluency in English required with Mandarin and / or Cantonese a definite plus
Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills
Strong research and analysis skills, with ability to create complex models and synthesize and interpret data
Confident, with excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to provide recommendations to senior management with conviction
Independent, self motivated with strong sense of urgency. Able to multi-task and organize work to meet deadlines across multiple projects
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Must demonstrate a basic understanding of financial markets and investment products
Strategy function or management consulting firm
Private Banking and/or Investment Management
Asia working experience
Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills (incl. PitchPro)
