Reporting to the Head of HR South East Asia, the successful applicant will be an energetic individual with a strong background in Human Resources across the finance sector. The successful applicant will be a member of the India Management Committee (MC) and the India Operating Committee (OC) and play an active role in the location development. This is a demanding role and requires a talented professional who has the ability to work with a very senior group of business leaders whilst at the same time is able to partner with other specialist HR leaders in a collaborative way to ensure the location delivers against the country HR objectives.
Oversight for the local team (HRBPs and Recruitment).
Oversight for the strategic direction of the HR function and delivery against both the LOB people agenda as well as supporting the Senior Country Officer’s and Chief Administrative Officer’s location-wide business strategy for the Branch & Global Knowledge Centre.
Oversight of the HR functions for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Developing partnership with regional and global counterparts in the ER, Compensation, L&D, and HRSD functions to inform relevant parties of any changes to the local environment as well as implement any global initiatives.
Demonstrating leadership and thought leadership around HR issues in the local market.
Developing key relationships with vendors and external contacts relationships e.g. KPMG, PWC, HR Networking Forums
Attending the MC and OC meetings with other Heads of Corporate Functions/LOBs
Driving the governance of the HR activities in the location and measuring the health of the processes and HR activities based on strong project management of key regulatory, seasonal, LOB and cross location activities.
Coordinate and facilitate the people based priorities for India (e.g., Diversity, Country Talent and Succession reviews, evaluation committees, disciplinary committees, etc)
Oversee the various regional HR projects such as HR policies review, updating business resiliency plans, coordinating with Benefits, HRSD, Employee Relations and Legal & Compliance in location policies review and implementation.
Oversight of the Regulatory activities impacting the India franchise including ensuring that any tax, employment law, immigration, Regulatory remuneration changes are all complied with.
Coordinate information sharing, best practices and business-specific updates across the location HR teams and identify risks and opportunities for improvement in the HR function including efficiencies and synergies across team
Work with HRBPS, GSC and the different Risk Control teams in managing the risk and control review processes, e.g. Vendor Management, Third Party Oversight, IT Risk, HR Risk Management,
Experienced HR leader, with 10 - 15+ years’ demonstrated performance and ability to provide HR consultation to executives and employees on HR issues including Employee Relations, Staffing, Diversity, Compensation, HR policies and Performance & Talent Management.
Ability to navigate a matrix organization and partner on issues across HR and the business.
Must be able to work collaboratively and to develop strong, positive working relationships with Senior Business Managers, Recruiting Leads, Training Leads and other LOB Senior HRBPs to integrate talent mobility and sourcing into the culture of the organization.
Proven track record in objectively coaching employees and management through complex, difficult issues and mitigating risks.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining proactive and flexible in style.
Exceptional judgment, demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and be creative in developing alternative solutions in a fast paced environment.
Ability to handle large amounts of confidential/sensitive information on a frequent basis
Strong communicator – able to deliver messages in a simple manner
