Business Overview
The Treasury and Chief Investment Office (CIO) are responsible for delivering on the firm’s strategic priorities across both structural interest rate risk and liquidity management.
Treasury manages the firm’s capital, balance sheet, liquidity and funding strategy and positions, including short dated and secured funding, debt and capital issuance and buybacks, and liquidity risk management, as well as the company’s rating agency relationships and corporate insurance activities.
The Chief Investment Office (CIO) manages the firm's structural interest rate and foreign exchange risks, and conservatively invests the firm’s excess deposits. Interest rate risk is managed primarily via investment securities and interest rate derivatives as tools to manage the firm's asset liability mismatch. The firm’s non-USD foreign exchange risk is managed through specifically defined hedging mandates.
This role manages the funding and liquidity position for the JPMC Singapore branch and other legal entities in Singapore, and is directly responsible for:
  1. Understanding and managing the daily cash position of the branch, including execution of Treasury trades necessary to place excess cash or borrow funds to cover deficit positions
  2. Working in partnership with relevant control functions to ensure compliance with both the internal and regulatory requirements with sufficient liquid assets; and producing associated reports;
  3. Working in partnership with the middle/back office functions to address any trade questions or discrepancies, and assist in other operational issues from front office perspective
Job Responsibilities
  • Daily funding and liquidity risk management for the branch, including local currency, USD and other active currency nostros;
  • Collateral and reserve management, including purchase of Government/Corporate securities, for settlement and regulatory compliance;
  • Positions management (including BPV and cashflow gaps) within assigned limits;
  • Daily pricing and submission of rates for Loans and Deposits, Transfer pricing and Market benchmark rate setting;
  • Liaise with internal lines of businesses and interbank counterparties;
  • Execution and trade booking of daily deals;
  • Daily P&L estimation and reporting;
  • Other liquidity related reporting, including collateral report, stress test, daily market commentary, etc;
  • Participation in front-office projects such as cashflow/balance sheet analysis, system implementation, regulatory projects, etc;
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Treasury or Corporate Finance role, or Treasury/Investment Bank middle/ back office experience; 
  • Knowledge of financial money markets with Finance / Economics background preferred;
  • Good knowledge of Excel, Reuters and Bloomberg Terminal is required;
  • Knowledge of MAS’ regulatory requirements for Banks is advantageous
  • A high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills and strong communication skills are required; and
  • Strong control mindset
