Securities Agent Change Project Manager
 
Department Description
JPMorgan Network Management is responsible for the selection and management of the network of agent banks employed by the firm. In this role, the group covers the purchasing and maintenance of securities services (custody and clearing) and cash services (payments and other foreign currency services) for LOBs firm-wide.  The network currently spans ~500 agent banks, comprising sub-custodians, correspondent banks and partner banks in 100+ markets.  The team work closely with these banks and regulatory authorities in each country to identify market practices and rules associated with foreign investment. 
 
Network Management supports the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), as well as other areas of the firm as needed, including Corporate Treasury, Asset Management and the Retail Bank.  The group’s key strengths lie in market knowledge, expertise in buying, and strong project management. 
 
The group has a global focus in order to leverage buying power worldwide, developing outsourcing initiatives, and management of the associated risks. 
 
The Network Service Management (NSM) division is focused primarily on the operational aspect of agent bank relationships and thorough performance monitoring of the network. The team is largely based in Bournemouth, with additional coverage in New York & Hong Kong to allow a ‘follow the sun’ coverage model. NSM’s Agent Change Management (ACM) team has responsibility for managing a suite of agent bank change projects including, but not limited to; agent transitions, account and custody platform restructures and expansion activity.
 
Position Summary

The successful applicant will assume responsibility for project managing strategic change initiatives of varying size and complexity related to the network of sub-custodian banks.* Events require management throughout the lifecycle of the project from evaluation through planning to execution. Responsibilities include;

·         Building relationships with internal departments, agent banks and the wider Network group

·         Production and analysis of service benchmark scorecards

·         Understanding and engaging operations on product, market and regulatory driven changes

·         Operational due diligence of agent banks

·         Service level assessment, negotiation and sign-off

·         Ensuring operational readiness for change events

·         Co-ordination of SWIFT testing and client communications

 

*Occasional overseas travel required to represent the firm at meetings with sub-custodians and market infrastructures

Key Qualifications / Skills
  • Strategic and operational insight into the challenges and priorities faced by the firm; commercial, regulatory, risk, competitive
  • Experience of successfully executing major, multi-disciplinary and multi-national transformation projects
  • Knowledge of how to overcome obstacles; negotiate win-win solutions between external and internal clients; and manage relationships and expectations (both ways)
  • Proven self starter, able to prioritize their own and other people's input
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others to change behaviour
  • Excellent report writer and summarizer of complex issues / solutions
  • Analytical and internal process control mindset
  • Understanding of the FCA CASS UK client money rules
  • Familiarity with CIB cash and securities business environment preferred
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines with a sense of both urgency and accuracy thorough effective time management including goal setting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Authority and confidence to speak with conviction about agent change agenda to a senior audience
  • Knowledge of firm’s securities products and familiarity with the Investor Services business environment
  • Ability to forge strong working relationships
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines with a sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Effective time management skills including goal setting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring
