CIB - Sec Lending - UI Developer - Associate - Glasgow

Job Description

Equity & Fixed Income Financing Technology is an organization within the Corporate Investment Bank Division responsible for the software development for the Securities Lending, Equity Swaps, Depositary Receipts, Treasury and Repo businesses. The development team within Lending Technology is looking to hire a highly motivated, hands-on UI Developer to join the Glasgow team to build out the Principal and Agency Lending platform globally.   You will play a key part in the development of a new trading platform which uses WPF, Java and Oracle in the technology stack. This platform development is a multi-year initiative and will replace several legacy applications along with the way.
We are a diverse team supporting both our underlying business and partnering with other technology teams, you'll be part of this innovative self supporting team.  The Global Technology team is spread across multiple locations using various technologies to communicate effectively to ensure collaboration and innovations are at the forefront of problem solving solutions. You should demonstrate skills across the development lifecycle from assisting requirements elicitation through to design, development, build, test and implementation. You portray the expertise in building robust, testable, scalable and highly robust systems.  Problem solving skills are a required to assist with supporting the business platforms.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partnering with business sponsors and product teams to gathering and refine user and technical requirements
  • Design, develop the core rate management and pricing system and work with other  technologists and strives for consistent integration of services and flows.
  • Implements discipline across the software development lifecycle including test driven development.
  • Help support our environment and effective utilization of the platform. Ensure that systems run well in production, are highly available at disaster recovery and have sufficient capacity.
  • Strives to improve  both the team and them by keeping up to date with market and industry
Required Skills
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft .Net and WPF technologies.
  • Excellent understand of building real time trading applications
  • Deep knowledge of UI multi-threading
  • Experience of working on highly scalable & highly available systems
  • Database experience in Oracle
  • Web services, Tomcat and Tibco EMS
  • Performance and monitoring tools


  • Understanding of the securities lending works
  • Scala/Git/Groovy/NoSQL DBs/Intellij
  • SQL Server
  • Continuous Integration & Delivery tools: Teamcity/Rundeck
