Investment Bank Markets Technology provides end to end technology solutions for the firm's Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Risk Management business areas.

 

As an application development team lead, you will drive the process of delivering and owning technical solutions that leverage core infrastructure products and services to meet specific application development, delivery and support needs of the business.

  • Work directly with quantitative research users, traders, sales people, structurers and other technology teams to articulate new technology requirements and solve business problems
  • Supervise the work of other members of the team, drive prioritization, define phasing/delivery of work, ensure development best practices are adhered to.
  • Develop specific enhancements and/or build new solutions to fulfill business objectives related to new business requirements
  • Work closely with other technology teams to ensure that required changes are made in other systems
  • Ensure technology solutions meet business and client requirements, that they are robust and supportable
  • Where appropriate, define the development plan and milestones, and ensure delivery is in line with initial plan and strategy
Document release procedures and support notes for deliverables so that support can be handed over to operate groups

As technical lead with the global Equity Derivatives qStack team you will help drive the delivery of a best in class platform leveraging next generation big data, distributed compute and cloud based technologies. 

 

You will work in closely with our Equity Derivatives business partners to ensure development efforts are focused in the right way at the right time and that they satisfy business needs to the best of the teams abilities.

You will drive the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering to strategy derivation through to design, development, testing, deployment and support. 



Requirements

We are looking for proactive and self-motivated technologists with a positive attitude and excellent team-working, communication, analytical and problem solving skills.

 

Essential skills

  • Experience in a team lead/people management role
  • Experience in project planning, project management & delivery of complex projects.
  • Extensive experience in commercial Java server side development, deployment and maintenance.
  • Extensive experience with Linux deployments
  • Disciplined approach to code management, testing and deployment practices
  • Experience with high performance & high throughput systems
  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle, breaking requirements down into technical deliverables and following through to delivery

Desirable skills

  • Experience with Cassandra & other Big Data technologies
  • Experience with Kafka, Spark, ElasticSearch, LogStash
  • Experience with Python, Scala, Maven, Jenkins, RESTful web services
  • Experience of working in financial services.
Understanding of equity derivative products

PLEASE NOTE: ALL INTERNAL MOVES WILL NORMALLY TAKE PLACE ON THE SAME GRADE AND SAME SALARY. SALARIES ARE REVIEWED ANNUALLY IN FEBRUARY. EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE REGARDING TRANSFER ON CURRENT SALARY MAY INCLUDE A MOVE BETWEEN GEOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS.
