Database Management Director - Executive Director

                Description:
 
Prioritizes, scopes, estimates, and manages the team(s) responsible for day to day infrastructure operations supporting all business globally. Leads implementation of multiple department programs. Responsible for participating in enterprise-wide project team, including members outside of Infrastructure. The role is responsible for developing processes, governance and the necessary tool/mechanisms that will support implementation of a resource strategy across technology.
 
Key Functional Responsibilities:
 
  • Projects excellent command of business knowledge and has the ability to solicit input from internal and external sources. 
  • Is recognized as a positive leader and is capable of defusing complex interpersonal issues while managing customer expectations.
  • Affects change within sphere of influence and leads development of innovative improvements and world-class practices.                         
  • Assumes responsibility for team results.
  • Experience running and supporting large databases under high transaction rates.
  • Clear understanding of Database Architecture, Operating Systems, Client/Server Architecture, Middleware and Hardware
  • Needs thorough knowledge of development cycle of a rapidly paced development environment.
  • Thorough understanding of Risk & Control and Audit requirements.
  • Should be able to work in a complex global environment and interact with various teams from Business Development, Infrastructure and software vendor support teams.
 
Key Operational Responsibilities:
 
  • Includes people management responsibilities, mentoring and Coaching.
  • Oversight location responsibilities across GSO Database Service Operations.
  • Communicates technical vision and roadmaps with little supervision. 
  • Provides assessments to management teams indicating business opportunities and critical success factors. 
  • Ensures information controls, back-up and recovery strategies are in place across all environments. 
  • Own, establish an effective engagement model with vendors, Stake Holders and other Training/support groups.
