CIB - Trader Desktop - Applications Developer (.Net, Excel, Python)

The team
The Credit Analytics & Trading Strategies (STRATS) team are a highly-skilled desk aligned team of quantitative developers responsible for a comprehensive suite of pre-trade analytical tools used by the Credit Trading business globally. This extensive suite covers theoretical pricing, real time risk, PnL predict, scenario analysis, credit event exposure and relative value analysis. Products covers include corporate bonds, single name CDS, index CDS & index CDS options.
The Role
The role requires a self-starter with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills who is comfortable working directly/indirectly with the credit trading desk & STRATS team globally (primarily in London/NY) on a daily basis in a high pressure, challenging and dynamic working environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop & support new applications & enrich existing applications with minimal supervision in an environment where requirements are often pithy, time to market is critical and compromising on quality or longevity are not an option.
  • Build strong relationships founded on trust, integrity & delivery with our partners on the trading desk, research, QR, market risk, operations & technology.
  • Maintain & Monitor all STRATS toolset & Infrastructure ready for Global Credit Trader on daily and escalate delays in timely fashion; partner well with the global AD, Operate, Wintel and DBA.
  • Demonstrate can do attitude, promote best practice in team, sharing business knowledge & debating technical solutions.
  • Porting of legacy analytical tools into JPM’s next generation strategic analytics platform Athena using Python.
  • Superb organisational skills, strong teamwork ethic,  excellent verbal & written communication skills, ability to think locally & execute globally
  • A keen interest in the financial markets with an awareness of sentiments & major market events
  • Experience of building application in Client-Server or n-Tier environment.
  • Deep understanding of Excel/VBA, C#, WPF, Python, SQL DB
  • Exposure to SharePoint Web development will be a plus
  • Ability to own the entire software development cycle from requirements gathering right through to eventual release & subsequent support.
  • 2/3+ years experience delivering outstanding technical solutions facilitating tangible $ generation
  • Ideally to Degree graduate in CS,  engineering discipline and/or equivalent work experience
