Department Description
 
Differential Discounting Trading (DDT) is part of Credit Portfolio Trading (CPT) and ultimately forms part of Credit Portfolio Group (CPG) which risk-manages the retained credit risk of the CIB originating from the HFI loan portfolio and derivatives transactions, using a wide range of assets to execute the overall global hedge strategy of the portfolio. The products traded span FX, Interest rates, credit, commodities, and equities, on a cash and derivative basis.
DDT risk manage JPMs collateralized derivative funding exposures primarily through the use of Interest Rate products such as IRS, Xcy basis, OIS basis, and FX.  In addition to this DDT also Risk Manages and report an additional independent trading book for the Corporate and Investment Bank’s Treasury (CIBT) primarily focused toward unsecured exposures.  DDT also structure and execute large scale portfolio optimization trades across the Bank’s derivatives portfolio which includes clearing, CSA renegotiations and bilateral compression activity. 
Differential Discounting (DD) Collateral team is part of the Regulations, Efficiency and Infrastructure (REI) group and the wider Credit Portfolio Group (CPG) business. DD Collateral is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing the funding costs arising from JPMs derivative collateral exposure.  DD Collateral provides guidance on the funding value of derivative collateral and works with the Finance desk and settlements in order to meet our daily collateral requirements.  , which is responsible for risk-managing the retained credit risk generated by the client-driven activities of the CIB as well as the market risk arising from counterparty risk in derivative and securities transactions.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in supporting all two core aspects of the CPG business including both Trading the Collateral desks. The role will involve facing off the front office and liaising with all JPM businesses in an environment which is fast paced, dynamic and continuing to evolve in the form of new pricing methodology and process changes which impacts the firm as a whole.
 
 
Job Responsibilities
 
  • Support the CPG Trading desks (CPT/DDT) across multiple products and risk management systems.
    • Repos, Rates/Credit Derivatives, FX, Commodities, Equity and Loans
    • Satellite MO oversight, central controls and reporting
  • Supporting the DD Collateral desk in monitoring optimization feeds Feed monitoring, chasing technology resolution for risk feeds from LOBs. In addition working with Collateral Ops, Finance and Settlements team to meet daily collateral requirements
  • Support the Core DD Function publishing the CSA to trade curve assignment process and global JPM curve remapping  exercises
  • Start of day controls for risk, including resolution of business queries with regards to delivered risk
  • Trade capture and reconciliation of trade activity between front office and official risk management system including risk, PnL and trade parameters
  • Ad-hoc (frequent) risk scenario work to help the business understand complex delivered risks
  • Assist with the production and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc senior management regulatory controls metrics reporting
  • Management and support of Global Clearing and Bi-lateral compressions exercises across JPM
  • Continuous focus on further improving levels of sophistication of process workflows, analysis, risk reporting and new business/product onboarding
  • High level of related project work (e.g. migrations etc)

 

Essential Skills
  • 3+ years experience in investment banking
  • Previous derivatives middle office or product control experience with a solid knowledge of IR/Credit Derivatives and Financing P&L and risk concepts
  • Collateral Management including understanding CSA documentation and the impact of using different discount curves to price trades
  • Understanding of financial terminology and traded products
  • Who works well with others and is a good team player in order to deliver results
  • Able to build relationships and influence others including technology and other business partners
  • Good communication and relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence key business partners at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to multi task and prioritize items
  • Strong technical knowledge and logical mindset in technology, product and process
