Description
The Business Analyst will develop and lead a team that prepares, performs and provides analytical support for Retail Claims, Card Merchant Disputes and Fraud Recovery.  The role is aligned to the Issue Management Pillar within the CDR Business Support team. This team provides support to the CDR businesses by managing Exam readiness preparation, RCSA evaluations, and Action Plan validations.  The team uses a variety of test methodologies to assess adherence to regulatory and legal obligations and business rules.  Analytics are used to identify, size and evaluate issues, determine impacts and validate control effectiveness.   The analyst will be engaged in the development of reports, decks, templates, tools and playbooks to ensure a consistent approach is developed and used within the team.
Candidates for this role should be highly-motivated, self-starters with strong analytical and technical skills.  The candidate will interact with business managers and support partners in the course of their responsibilities and will need excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with management reporting, analytics, and business or project management is recommended. A strong understanding of one of the supported business is preferred.  A background in risk and controls is preferred, but not required.
   
Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team to support the assigned business
    • Support pre-exam preparation and testing (reporting, analysis, control reports, etc)
    • Manages RCSA PARCs for assigned business. Conducts the regular review of control processes to assess design and control effectiveness. Evaluates and prepares PARCs for annual reviews, testing and exams
    • Develop test methodologies for Action Plan Validations and Issue evaluations
    • Schedules, tracks and reports on testing and request completion rates
    • Work with business to identify evidence and calibrate response for each work stream
    • Coordinate oversight and validation of results and communication to applicable sub pillars and business leadership
  • Conduct  in-depth and detailed oriented business analysis to:
    • Provide insights/root causes for business performance
    • Identify new operational and process opportunities. 
    • Develop business case preparations
  • Own and coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities
    • starting from identifying opportunities, understanding business requirements, collecting / analyzing data, validating and making recommendations
    • Present analyses / recommendations in verbal and written form to a wide audience that is clear, concise and easy to understand
    • Create ongoing reporting and dashboards for management, partners and examiners

Qualifications 
  • Fraud / Disputes credit card knowledge and/or CCB Claims knowledge preferred
  • Regulatory, Risk, Controls, Exam testing or Audit knowledge desired
  • Self-starter, works well independently and as a team player
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize competing deliverables due to changing timelines
  • Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills, which require interpreting large amounts of data and its impact to operations and production
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong presentation skills
  • Proven leader in a virtual environment
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with MS Office related products (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required. 
  • Knowledge and experience with software packages / platforms (SQL, SAS, UNIX, Teradata, Oracle) desired.
  • Bachelor's and / or equal proven work experience in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or similar) from an accredited college / university required and/or proven work experience demonstrating abilities and knowledge.
